Why so much hate on Halo 4?

OK, so it’s no secret there are people who don’t like Halo 4. In fact, anywhere you look on the forums you’ll find people who are clearly displeased with the game, though they never state why.
There are aspects of the game that can sometimes frustrate me, yes, such as the Mantises on Ragnarok, but whenever I come across this negativity, all I can see is people who don’t want Halo to change, but it needs to change.
Whenever there are arguments over which game is better, Halo or COD, many people will argue that COD never changes and Halo is ever changing and that’s why it’s better, but clearly the fanbase no longer believe this as there are constant complaints like, “Ooooh, it’s not like Halo 3, it’s terrible, you’re ruining Halo.” Boohoo, if you want Halo to play like Halo 3, go freaking play Halo 3!
And now what the hell is everyone’s problem with the map pack? For god’s sake, if you don’t like the maps, don’t play them and when the next map pack comes around, don’t download it.

So that was a small rant, unintentional but alright. The main purpose of this post is to develop my understanding of why so many people hate this game, be it Campaign, Multiplayer, whatever, I just can’t make sense of it myself.

(P.S. If it wasn’t already obvious, I’m having a blast with the game, ALL of it.)

(P.S.S. I should clarify, I don’t believe this game is in any way perfect, I have my problems with it, what I don’t understand is why there are just so many meaningless attacks on the game.)

Yep, definitely some “spirited” debate going on. But I’m with you, loving the game and can’t wait to play it over semester break. After the in-laws leave…

Halo 4 is a sad excuse for a Halo game, multiplayer-wise.

I shouldn’t actually have to explain to you why this is true. Just browse the forums and you’ll see. Spend some time in the Matchmaking section of the forums.

No, no it doesn’t. And people are entitled to their opinions, just as you are.

I agree with you heart and soul man. I have been having the time of my life on this game, and yes I have played the halo series since the beginning…

To inform you why people hate Halo 4, it’s not about the game… if you look on the COD forum which many haters on here hold up to be the competitor halo is failing to match, then you will see equally as many complaints as you see on here. "I can’t deal with ghost!!! WTH the flak jacket!!! etc… etc… etc… you see it’s not about Halo 4 anymore, which is a great game by the way. It’s about the human condition, people need something to hate on, and when what they hate on is changed they will find something else to hate on NO MATTER WHAT!!! If you will looking for peace you will never find it. People hate on Halo just for the sake of HATING, and you will realize that soon if you don’t already. Even if halo didn’t exist they would find something else to hate on. Haters must hate, I say leave them to it, 343 obviously isn’t responding to them anyway and I say good. Hopefully they will rage quit.

Derp.

I hate it because

[/li]- Custom games have been damaged (no Race, Assault, Infection Options ,Cant get rid of sprint or insta spawn, Cant change CTF rules)

  • Custom Loadouts, spawning with precision weapons is bad unless its Team BR/DMR/whatever. It ruins the maps in my opinion. Why run around the map for power weapons when you already can spawn with them. Also having the abillity to spawn with Active Camo and sticky grenades is just a bad decision. Bungie even saw this.

  • Ordinance. Kills map control and over populates the map with power weapons.

  • Weapons seem unbalanced. DMR fits in every niche. Boltshot is like spawning with maulers.

  • Insta Spawn. It makes the penalty of death seem pointless. A bad player can easily ruin a lead just by spawning faster.

  • Spawns by far the worst spawns in any halo game IMO. I literally have spawned by an enemy Gauss hog(which shot me the moment i spawned) and mantises more then spawning in a safe area.

  • Music is not on par with Marty’s works. Also in campaign it is very quiet so I cant really get a feel for the moment.

  • Only 3 Forge maps.

  • 343i took out firefight in favor for sparty ops. A feature they had no idea if it would be successful.

  • Sparty Ops. Reused Maps and dialogue can get boring really quick. Also the lag is terrible.

  • Join in Progress.

Yeah, I kind of noticed myself becoming slightly biased with my own opinion, but be honest. Would you rather have the same game released with shiny new graphics and absolutely no alteration in gameplay whatsoever? Or would you rather they take a slightly different approach to try and keep the fans interested?

Sorry though, of course everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

I agree with all thr multuplayer crap u sed multiplayer sucks

Yes, because the old gameplay was actually good.

…What?
