Why so many options missing/removed?

Look, I know this has been beaten to death by countless threads, but I hopped into Custom Games for the first time last night hoping to make a gametype I used to play in Halo 3 with my friends, only to find that certain options are just missing. While I commend 343 for adding a plethora of options like disabling ground pound, changing the grenade distance, and other options that we’ve never seen, I can’t fathom why they refuse to put in options that Bungie made available to us from 2007 and on.

My gametype is probably the simplest of all. You are in warthogs, on a small platform, and you try to push people off. In Halo 3, you received -1 points for a death, whether that was suicide, killed by the guardians, falling to your death, or being killed by an enemy. You see, in this gametype, you can die via any of these methods due to how kills from falls are handled. If an enemy shoots me, and I fall off, it’s his kill. If I fall off accidentally, it’s a suicide. The player with the number closest to zero wins after a certain time period.

However, there aren’t options for changing the scoring option beyond kills, suicides, and betrayals. Though unrelated to my gametype, I cannot change it to say that sticks are worth 4 points, and beat downs are worth -2 points. I can’t make it so headshots are 2 points rather than 1, or splatters are worth 10 points.

This is a minor thing that illustrates a major issue I’ve had with 343i, and clearly many others have as well. MCC was a catastrophe, Halo 4 was alright but lacked the ability to disable many features 343i added, and now Halo 5 seems completely lackluster in their attempt to provide us with the options to make amazing community gametypes.
