So 343 gave us the option to make custom classes, but they decide to take slayer pro off of its own playlist and put it with team infinity slayer. They are two completely different game modes that do not belong together. Slayer pro takes off custom classes and armor abilities and the mini map, thus making me mad because I have grown to love my custom classes and assassinating someone who does not pay attention to their mini map. I also understand this happened a while back, but now it is starting to really bother me. Seriously 343 get your -Yoink- together!
Rename Infinity Slayer to Team Slayer and suddenly, both gametypes have something in common - Slayer.
We had mixed gametype playlists in the past, I don’t see why we don’t now.
I’ve gotten tired of comprehensively destroying the arguments of people insane enough to support Infinity Slayer, so I’m just going to say “no” from now on to save time.
No.
Infinity Slayer can work in a casual playlist if they had social gametypes like H3. It has no place whatsoever in ranked or competitive play because it is inherently broken and intentionally imbalanced and random.
I really dislike slayer pro, if it was its own playlist than I would be fine but the point of the playlist Infinity Slayer is to play “Infinity Slayer” not Slayer Pro.
Most know me on here for being a huge Infinity fan.
343i released the former Pro version in its stand alone list many moons ago and it failed for a multitude of reasons. They reintroduced Pro into the Infinity play list and there was backlash against it. Radar was removed from BTSP and the mode was renamed BTS (no Pro). The two modes are very similar and are both Slayer variants.
I was originally against Pro being mixed. With the radar added, IMO, BTS has a home in the Infinity play list and can stay. I do miss the no radar version though as I grew to like it very much. The new radar version is just a watered down Infinity version but, still enjoyable all the same.
Say “no” to separating the two versions!
> Most know me on here for being a huge Infinity fan.
I actually just consider you completely insane.
Slayer Pro has the worst settings ive ever seen in any Pro version of any game…They match the primary rifles as if they were balanced to each other, and the result is that only DMR and BR are playable…
Explosives should be scrapped, CC should have Dexterity, LR should have Balance, and the AR should be completely re-balanced (with all the other Auomatic rifles).
Still wondering why there is no slayer playlist. A main slayer playlist with at least 4 of the following game types would be sweet:
Slayer Pro (no motion sensing campers, yay)
Slayer Classic (Halo ce, H2 and H3 feel… Same loadouts, just good ole halo)
Spartan III (basically Reach, every body same weapons but AA loadouts available)
Covie Slayer (only covie layouts and weapons on map)
Promethean Slayer (only Forerunner layouts and weapons on map) um, orange?
Infinity (mumble grumble, doesn’t deserve it’s own playlist)
I think a point needs to be stressed that having multiple slayer gametypes brings many advantages, especially compared to having multiple Slayer Playlists.
The big question to me is… Is it more important to play the specific variant I want or that I be matched as fairly as possible with people of similar skill? By combining playlist, yes… You are less likely to play the type of slayer you wanted, but you will more likely to have a better match with more people in one playlist.
Basic Slayer Variants belong in a Main Slayer Playlist.

In previous Halos difference between gametypes in Team Slayer playlists was basically difference between loadouts. As there are custom loadouts in Infinity Slayer, such thing makes no sense in Halo 4.

Custom loadouts are actually a big part of H4’s problems, just pointing that out
Go pro or go home!
lol, kidding
Really bored of saying stuff a million times over but - pro has been in every Slayer playlist since the dawn of time. Its a team slayer variant and if 343 would just rename their damn playlist the IS diehards wouldnt have a leg to stand on.
> Custom loadouts are actually a big part of H4’s problems, just pointing that out
In my opinion they are huge improvement in Halo franchise. However your post, as many other posts, from many other Pro-fans/Infinity-haters, clearly shows that Infinity and Pro doesn’t belong to one and same playlist.
Infinity fans have everything granted with custom loadouts. They don’t need voting if they want to start with one or another weapon or sets of perks, as they have everything edited by themselves right in their loadout options. That’s why gametypes without custom loadouts should always be on separate playlists.
If someone wants “oldschool/competitive” gametype then mashing him with “social/tiredofthisbs” people will do no good for anyone.

Custom loadouts only serve to further unbalance the game, this is an undeniable fact
I’m actually kinda sick of beating around the bush here, and it kills me to bite my tongue because I believe in brutal honesty so here we go
IS is fiesta…its a glorified fiesta playlist.
The unbalanced chaotic nature very much leaves something to be desired and I find it hard to understand why any fan of older halo games or halo in general find these appalling settings favourable.
The fact of the matter here is that 343i screwed up largely but not having a “classic” halo feel at launch, they crammed their idiotic idea of what they felt halo “should” have been (a game by the way that they have said that they hired people who did not like certain aspects of previous halo games to make (what?)) down our throats because it was the only game in town.
All we had was the IS lists and any other “attempt” at a classic halo feel they threw at the competitive/old school crowd was a half–Yoinked!- attempt on their part to placate us by trying to give us a little of what we wanted while still serving up a huge steaming piece of their IS settings thrown in, and as such the vast majority of the people left the game
The people such as myself who endured the past 7 months of IS covered halo and persevered in trying to enjoy this game, we played the IS settings even now I will play IS settings, I don’t quit out of games when IS gets voted for like many IS supporters have claimed they do here on waypoint
You want to know the real issue here?
The IS crowd want things handed to them, they are so use to everything in Halo 4 being handed to them to succeed instead of having to work on improving their skills.
You want to know what Halo 4’s Is settings are really is? Its lazy mans halo, its everyone is good in their own right everyone gets a participation ribbon halo
Its terrible, but as I’ve said here, there is one key difference
The pro supporters don’t quit out when IS settings are voted for, and the pro supporters aren’t wanting the playlists to be separated
It only seems to be IS supporters who can’t handle gametypes that don’t drop sniper rifles at their feet after they got a couple of kills and a handful of assists while camo camping with the DMR on some corner on ragnorok
Halo never should have come to this, how did you play halo before H4, did you even play before H4, because if you did you would understand that this is so very far form what halo was meant to be that its not even funny anymore, I thought it was cute at first but now that the shine and polish has come off we are seeing this game for what it really is, a failure, and it is a failure because of the things that were unnecessarily added to the game and because of what was taken away
I was forced to play IS settings for the first six months of release and during that time I’ve watched 90% of the population leave because the game in its shipped form was terrible, now with recent improvements such as the weapon tuning and the Pro settings suddenly the people who enjoyed halo 4 in its shipping state (the causal players that the game was intended for) are all up in arms and leaving…and why is that, because they can’t cope with having their unbalanced mess taken away from them
As its been said to death and can not logically be argued splitting the playlists further will drop playlist population and create an even worse gaming experience
So as its also been stated before, the solution to this is simple:
Rename Infinity slayer to Team slayer and that eliminates all problems
Pro settings are here to stay and thank sweet zombie jesus for that because they are one of the only redeeming qualities this game has
So you keep quitting out of lobbies where pro settings are voted for and I will keep voting pro and enjoying the game as it was intended to be played the way it was made from halo ce-halo 3 a balanced arena shooter
I will probably get ban for this post and it will undoubtedly be moderated but I’m really, and I mean really getting tired of this nonsense
@ xTheMorningstar:
That’s a long post you’ve written, but I believe I answered everything in other thread. If 54 pages isn’t too much for you…
In few words: you may have your reasons to hate Infinity, just like Infinity fans have their reason to like it. There are no objective measures on which we can say that one gametype is better that another. All is just our opinions. I may as well tell you that Halo 2 is watered down, noobiefied abomination of arena shooter, where Bungie gave most useful (utility) weapon as default, just like shield and health, and no one can blame 343i for making another step with custom loadouts which contains AA and ordnance. We can hate games or like games, but even if we hate then this is just our opinion.
One way or another both gametypes should be on separate playlists, as they clearly are different, with different gaming philosophy behind and different fanbase. This is what matters.
