Why should I play Halo 4?

Honestly, apart from getting my money’s worth, why the hell should I play this game?
I cannot see a reason.

Matchmaking is just god awful. I liked it at first (probably the first week or two of release) but now its horrible. It isn’t fun. I’m constantly forced to join games in progress where I’m put on a heavily losing team. If I somehow manage to get in a game that hasn’t started yet, I’m teamed with absolutely terrible team mates. They either leave as soon as we start to lose, team kill, are AFK or are just so bad at the game that they might as well not be playing. Most games I do the best on my team and the enemy team for christ sake! Just to lose anyway. How the hell am I supposed complete commendations that require wins to get sweet -Yoink- armour?! And don’t say play with friends because they all refuse to play this game. And what is fun about the gameplay in matchmaking? Ordnance drops are ridiculous, having custom classes creates an imbalance, sprint removes the ‘Halo’ feel to the game, power weapons are useless and armour abilities shouldn’t be in loadouts (should be obtained on the battlefield). The only decent thing about multiplayer is the armour but the painting system is underwhelming.

Campaign is pretty disappointing in my opinion. The story was ok but it has nothing on the first three Halo’s. Especially Halo 3! There’s no replayability in Halo 4. 343i try and bribe you with challenges to get you to play the campaign again because even they know there’s no replayability. -Yoink- that. Its just boring and has no iconic, memorable moments in my opinion.

Spartan ops was a good idea but was never going to work if the campaign wasn’t good. Again, no replayability and is just down right boring. The cut scenes are good how ever. But all I can say is Halo ODST Firefight!!

Forge is like Reach’s, which I really enjoyed but will never work if you don’t have decent, fun, and interesting maps to work with. Halo 4 doesn’t really have this at all.

I know I complain about a game that I’ve put alot of time into but I keep giving it chances (and keep getting pissed off) and I don’t want to feel like I’ve wasted my money. And you have to understand, I absolutely adore Halo. That’s why I’m so angry and disappointed with this game. I complain on hear because I’ve got to vent my anger somewhere and the developers clearly don’t want to listen to us.
Tell me why I shouldn’t go back to Halo 3? or hell, even Reach? That is looking damn good right about now.

I quite like the game, it’s just enjoyable for me

I can only quote someone who put it really well:

> you liked the extremely poor plot and writing of halo 3 but think the stuff that was actually thoroughly thought out is crappy. right.

It’s just my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed Halo 3. I’ve played the campaign over and over again. I really loved the story. You were finishing the fight.

There were nice additions to halo 4 forge… But they are overshadowed IMO buy the missing things (precision movement, custom power up and custome games options)

So I disagree with this point but it only really supports your main point… Not really many reasons to play this game over Reach or Halo 3. (Other than its pretty…)

I like Halo 4 because I like the missions, it brings the Chief back and introduces two of my favorite characters from the books to the games (Didact and Jul 'Mdama), to each his own I guess

OP,

If you don’t want to play it, don’t play it.

A better question is why do you expect us to give you a reason to stay? You clearly have already decided how you feel about the game so nothing we say will change your mind.

I will say though that you are grossly over exaggerating. JiP rarely puts you into lost causes anymore, but then you continue and complain about people quitting in the same breath? Halo is much kinder to people when there team mates quit THANKS TO JiP… But if you really hate JiP SO much, just avoid it with the network settings trick.

Halo 4 feels better than ever now and if you don’t feel the same way then that sucks for you, try and find something you enjoy.

I will agree campaign had disappointing gameplay and that spops sucked, but that is all we will agree on

Id suggest going back to Halo 3. I already have. Sure its from 2007 and the graphics arent perfect, but the gameplay is golden. If I were you I would only go to reach as a last resort if Halo 3 isnt working on your internet for some reason.

I like it, TBH. However, with WG (MM) i’m very disappointed with the team set-up system. I get paired with mostly the losing team, especially when im the one doing the work. This is one of those times, i have to say, we REALLY NEED MANDATORY, Ranked & Social Playlist.

SpOps, that was fun. Just wish a Season 2 could appear.

Campaign, it was one big disappointment, IMO.

I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign and I can’t get enough of Dominion. That’s why I play. For you I can’t tell you why you should anything. If you find no reason to play, don’t force yourself.

Not that I dislike H4 but the campaign isn’t thoroughly thought out at all and makes no sense to anyone that hasn’t read the latest books

Because its a great game that was made even better with the weapon tuning update.

I really liked H3 campaign as well. I even replayed Reaches from time to time.

4 just has 0 replay ability. Replaying it on Legendary was a pain I’m the -Yoink-, not because it was hard but because he campaign was just meh to begin with.
