Why should I get this game on day and...

Not in 10 years. With the most recent updates about the campaign only having one biome, No elites at least at the start. No duel welding, I could go on

Like what is really new. What didn’t this update removed or decofirmed things.

And I’m not getting it just because I like Halo. I got MCC for that.

Like with them saying things like adding rain storms later. Why get it day one?

Honestly it feels like this whole game is being sold on semi-classic art style, and being a chief focused game.

Rather I should say campaign, as MP is free(ish) anyway.

This is a pretty good point. The game is 60 dollars, and the multiplayer is free, *so what am I getting for 60 bucks?*343 has been really weird about detailing what kind of game HI is, and maybe that’s because there aren’t any applicable comparisons to it. At first I was worried it was a generic Far Cry clone with Master chief on the cover, and hell, it still may be that. Are there even going to be any benefits for buying the game outright over game pass? Will you need to purchase the game for competitive play?

Aside from the huge questions about sandbox and customization and gamemodes we ask all the time, I’d love to see 343 get around to answering the questions about what we’re even paying for if we decide to buy the game.

Honestly, you shouldn’t. That goes with every game right now, the better version with all the DLC, updates and bonus content always comes out cheaper after a couple of years.
Generally the only thing that’s time-exclusive is online multiplayer, but that’s entirely free with a infinite.

In terms of the campaign, I think that it’s a safe assumption that it will be very very big. It should be able to function standalone if it needed to at the price point.

no one is saying you should. Wait and see what the games like.

You could even wait for release and pick up a rental from Redbox or something. Don’t ask the forums, or Infinite’s marketing campaign to make the decision for you.

Game pass if you have it is a pretty solid reason to check it out day 1

I’m getting Halo 5 vibes…
We best hope that the maps are more varied. Heaven forbit they pull a Reach and have them part of the Campaign too, otherwise MP’s gonna look like a whole lot of Forgeworld.

I’m secretly holding out hope that there is more that one map, and that they awkwardly answered the question, as to not reveal it too early. The question was relating to biomes in general, and they answered it in relation to different biomes within the demo map. Its gonna be super awkward if the Campaign is all green, grey and blue sky.

Only one biome? Where did you hear that?

In the interview he said there will not only be multiple biomes, but also sub-biomes.

Game Pass is the way to go. If Infinite breaks promises, you can play other games.

The interview explains that the PNW is their “main biome” but that it includes sub-biomes like high altitude, swampy wetlands, and war-torn areas. He then goes on to talk about other “pallets” like the hexagons, caves, forerunner architecture, and banished inspired architecture and fortifications. It doesn’t sound like we’ll get different “biomes” like sandy deserts and snow bound landscapes, but I believe we’ll get plenty of variety.

Keep in mind that 343 is going to spin everything in the most positive light possible. So we need to try and cut through the fluff and not keep our hopes too high when 343 tries to “let us down easy.”

If you like to play the Campaign Halo Infinite offerts a big semi Open Word

I wanted to see what other people think and if they agree with me. Maybe I could’ve made a better title.

I’m just excited to play a new Halo game and experience a new story and mp that sound great to me so far, regardless of what features they aren’t able to get in at launch that they’d like to.

I may avoid purchasing the campaign at launch. Only one main environment for the entire game is pretty upsetting. I feel like Infinite will end up being ridiculously monetized with DLC and micro transactions

Nobody is asking you to get it on day 1…or get it at all. To each their own really. At the end of the day, it’s all up to you and you’re responsible for your own actions. Take it or leave. And where did you hear “only one biome” from? It’s best advised not to misinform the community.

It was literally confirmed in the last #Ask343 video that Infinite’s campaign will launch with only one biome, the Pacific Northwest. Although they did tease “sub-biomes” or “pallets”.

In #Ask343, 343 said that Halo Infinite will center around the Pacific Northwest (PNW) in terms of biome types and diversity,
The PNW has a large varierty of biomes some of the larger Biomes include: swamplands, mountains, alpines, glaciers (glacier national park), deserts, high deserts, Freshwater ecosystems (lakes, rivers, ponds, wetlands), marine ecosystems (ocean related ecosystems), shrub lands, woodlands (such as redwood and old-growth forests), as well as the only temperate rainforest on the entire American continent.
PNW Doesn’t just mean forests and grassy fields, it could mean any (hopefully many) of the affore mentioned biomes.

Last time I recall it was somewhere along the lines of;

“The “Pacific Northwest” is the game’s primary biome, but there are other areas including swampy wetlands, wartorn “Deadlands” and more.”

Not “only one biome”

The Pacific Northwest is the only primary biome, but they said there will be “sub-biomes” that are all within the Pacific Northwest-inspired canvas. So I mean, yea I don’t think it will only be the big green trees we’ve seen in all the screenshots so far. But I also don’t think we will be getting any huge deserts or snowy landscapes, or jungle environments, etc.
