As someone who DID NOT play the first game but is however very familiar as to how the story line played out, I’m asking what makes the gameplay worth the price tag
Why are you asking? Anybody can tell you why something is worth the price, but it is really you who decides it’s worth.
That’s up to you and you alone.
if u like to plat real timed strategy games and halo get it if u did’t play the first one buy it it’s cheep now
There is a difference between knowing the storyline and playing the game, you probably just searched up the storyline etc, but until you play the game which is the RTS aspect that’s when you should base your decision on whether or not you like playing RTS type of games. - assuming if you haven’t played an RTS before.
To some people RTS a are really boring to them, which happened to alot of people with the first Halo Wars as they only bought it because it had the Halo name on it.
It’s really up to you if you like RTS type of games, no one can force you to buy it, it’s your own decision.
Save this question for later. Right now we pretty much no nothing about halo wars 2 except that creative assembly is working on it. As for the trailer, anything that’s pre-rendered I take with a grain of salt
Halo Wars is a very easy to play and understand RTS game that plays really well on Xbox. And the story is from 343 so it will most likely be a good one.
creative assembly have a great track record with RTS games.
in short, Halo Wars is a different but very fun take on the halo universe.
To me and a lot of other people it’s not about the single player it’s about multiplayer. And yes it’s worth it.
If RTS games aren’t your thing, then nothing we can say would persuade you. It’s all a matter of personal preference. I myself grew up playing StarCraft, so this was an easy transition. That being said, Halo Wars plays surprisingly smooth for a console based RTS. Controls aren’t clunky or overcomplicated like some other console RTS games out there. Not to mention, it’s Halo.
If it will play similarly to Halo Wars, I recommend getting it ONLY if you like to play RTS games. Halo Wars is a very underrated game that has a great story, great gameplay, and very well-balanced units / maps. Also the cutscene quality was AMAZING, but that’s what you get when you ask Blur to make them for you.
You can play it or not. It doesn’t really matter.
A reason you could play though is that you might find it fun, as that is the reason behind playing games in the first place.
Halo Wars is considered the best console optimized RTS. The original maintains a population for reasonably fast matchmaking since 2009. Challenge grows and evolves with the community as common strategies are met with resistance over time. This helps keep things fresh. It’s fast pace allows for victory in 5 minutes. Experienced players might find themselves battling for hours (my max was 2 hours 40+minutes). The best players fill every second of the first 10-15 minutes balancing troop management and building bases, army, researching tech. Manuevering units is also an important skill. Battles aren’t just won by numbers but how and where you move your troops during skirmishes.
If Halo Wars 2 is made in the same spirit as Halo Wars the original I’d say it’s a great buy for anyone that loves RTS… That’s assuming that 343 doesn’t screw it up some how.
Just buy it. It is worth.
Either you want to or not.

1: Do you like Halo?
2: Do you like RTS games?
If the answer of both questions is yes then you have your answer.
If the answer to #2 is no (let’s face it…you are a halo fan so arguing about #1 is a waste of time) then the game is likely not for you.
IF you never tried RTSs…try one and see if it piques your interest
