343 loves her too much. To them they see sarah palmer as a bada$$ who uses slang like “campers” and “eggheads”. But to us she’s an annoying tryhard lebsian. And i also believe they will have a bigger role for her in halo 5. Like some romance between her and lasky. Or her and cheif. But then again mastercheif cant feel love due to his augmentation damping down his hormones. So the only thing he loves is war(and cortana). I also believe they will try to use her as a replacement to Sgt. Johnson but we know nobody can replace him not even a smartmouth Spartan-IV. Maybe they should add like Sgt.Johnson’s cousin or something make him just like johnson but not as bada$$ and not the same rank.
But i dont know those are my thoughts. What are yours???
I dont think a love interest would be a good addition AT ALL. And I also think people dislike her so much because many of them don’t take the effort in actually looking at her personality and character development in a noncritical way.
Just because you don’t like Palmer doesn’t mean she’s a bad character. Are some of her lines a bit overly cliche and overdone? Yes.
Does she fit her role perfectly? Yes.
What you don’t understand, is that the Spartan-IVs are meant to be portrayed as this ghost-of-an-image of what Spartans are supposed to be. They’re SUPPOSED to be cocky, arrogant, lacking in discipline because this harkens to the fact that they AREN’T real Spartans. It’s all very good writing. If the player feels frustrated with them- then 343i’s doing this plot device justice. Because the player SHOULD feel frustrated that these next-gen Spartans slander the name of Spartan-IIs. The player SHOULD realize that Palmer is nothing compared to Fred, John, or Kurt were as leaders.
Can I get transfer. I’m not really confident in the personnel using the Ship’s con since they seem to be trying to get me killed. I mean who kicks an Alien artifact that looks like a nuke ready to go off, and really who lets such an artifact onto the ship in the first place? Seriously other than the Granny Kidnapper does anyone really realize they are over a world dominated by a hostile digital intelligence and Covenant zealots bent on destroying the ship?
> You clearly have little grasp of the Halore.

What a Spartan IV would say to a covenant scientist: “Egghead, get him!!!” Proceeds to grenade spam scientist
What a Spartan II would say to a covenant scientist: “THIS IS SPARTA!!” Proceeds to assassinate the scientist then kick him off a cliff
I don’t necessarily think Palmer’s a “-Yoink!-” but she is a bit way too aggressive to be a Commander. She’s much too opinionated, and does try a bit too hard.
I personally hate her guts simply because she parades around like she owns the ship, and has threatened to shoot Doctor Halsey on numerous occasions. After all these years of Halsey being the Spartan’s ‘mom’, she ended up growing on me in the same manner.
But seeing Palmer blatantly disrespect, and kick around some possibly very important Forerunner artifacts, I think she’s a -Yoink- representation of what the Spartan IV’s should be aiming for.
We’re mad at her for disrespecting the foreruneer artifact by kicking it now? You know, the one that, had she not kicked it, would have pulled the ship into Requiem? AGAIN?

You’re wrong and if you aren’t, then it’s horrible writing. They want us to hate the ultra-human Spartan-IVs because they’re not like the Spartan-IIs? They want us to realize that Spartan-IIs are superior in every way and the Spartan-IVs could never measure up?
Then why in the world do they go prancing about during the campaign, throwing around words like “sociopathic” when describing the Spartan-IIs? Why does one of the game’s themes revolve around John-117 finding his humanity? Why does the game’s ending put being human first, soldier second in a positive light? The game is clearly trying to tell you that John’s idea (and the rest of the Spartan-IIs, by proxy) of what he’s supposed to be is severely flawed and falling apart. Spartan-IVs have a measure of humanity and so depicting them as incompetent and inferior and infuriating, while simultaneously insinuating that Master Chief should be just a bit more like them, would be terrible writing.
You’re clearly just very biased against the Spartan-IVs. While I’ll agree that they’re not depicted extraordinarily well here, that’s not really intentional. 343 Industries wants you to like them. The remaining Spartan-IIs and Spartan-IIIs at the end of the Human-Covenant War became Spartan-IVs (with a few exceptions). These new Spartans are here to stay. They’re not some plot device to glorify Spartan-IIs. I promise.
Addendum: I also don’t know where you get the idea that these soldiers are undisciplined. I’ve never seen one disobey an order, while Master Chief directly says “No, sir” to Captain Del Rio during the campaign.
I don’t find her attractive or funny. Her dialogue annoys me. She’s has no interest for science. She does not compare to Johnson, MC, Carter, or even Kat, for that matter.
I don’t see why people hate Sarah Palmer at all, We like Halsey cuz we know all about her. to everyone else Halsey is a nut. and she insulted Palmer, and now is talkin to Covenant. Not the most likeable character no, but she’s not THAT bad.
