well then use it. I personally hate it, but that is because most of the time I go 1 for 1 with it and dont even get the kill with the AR. Its usually finished with a melee.
i find the left-right-left-jump strafe to be the most useful with the AR the jump is key when using the AR. this way i don’t end up trading

Keep practicing, you will eventually find its niche. Even the pros drop their magnum for the BR, not the AR. That tells volumes of its effectiveness.
AR is only good with the Vehicle damage variant, because it does a solid on any light armored vehicle.
At least it isn’t as OP as the Halo 4 AR.

Oh I do, just lately keep getting messages from kids that I either do about the same, or completely stomp on, using the ar.
If they do about the same or better tuan me they call me a noob for using the ar, and if I completely wreck people with it they accuse me of cheating because the ar is a “noob” weapon.
Honestly just finding it so odd how divided people are over the ar. Did the same in halo 4 as well with the ar, but didnt see it so divided.
As fr the 1 v 1, I personally shoot maybe 3ish bullets, release then pull again, repeating that about 3 times then holding it longer. usually works pretty well. Then again I switched to focusing so heavily on aiming, dieing be -Yoink!-.
