Because video game companies don’t do that anymore. It also keeps the game at 60fps. Also, majority of people play online and split screen is a thing of the past.
Remove the split screen on campaign or in personnaly game
i played split screen on a lot of other halo games, mostly on halo 3…personally i’m okay with no split screen because it’s a faster paced game with faster paced enemies. It would be hard as heck trying to knock down some of those enemies with half a screen. Even on multiplayer too.
Halo as always had split screen so the play that want to play with there friends at one xbox that was more fun for them than online. If I wanted to play in online game i would get a online game for the PC. I understand there are People how want to play online with there friends but they did not think about all the fans that like to play split screen like me and a hole others. As for 60 FPS that dose not mater to a lot of people and if i want 60 fps i would use a PC to play a game. They could made halo 5 two different was one for the fans that wanted 60 FPS and one for the ones that want the spilt screen and they could of name one halo 5 and the other halo 5.1. Or they could path the engine that runs the game for the one that want split screen so they can download it and the one that want 60 fps do not have to download it, Also there are people at there that can not get Xbox gold because they do not have the money for it want about them now. I guess the company dose not care about them just to make others happy with there 60 fps and it not all about 60 fps game can be fun with out it. .
Despite what the fanboys will tell you there is a huge number of people sorely dissapointed in the lack if spilt screen. They will make excuses for the poor decision making of the developers just like an Apple fanatic.

It’s blatantly obvious that 343/MS simply fed that line of garbage to the general populous b/c they know the masses are lemmings. The simple TRUTH is that it is a CASH GRAB, plain and simple. Force the consumer to purchase MORE consoles and MORE copies of the game. THAT’S IT !!!
The graphics in this game are such a small improvement over Reach and Halo 4. AND…given the fact this game is playing on a console which has generations better HW…come on, don’t be so easily duped.

Playing online and playing in spit-screen are mutually exclusive now?
With how Edge-of-ones-seat performance goes with Halo 5 in Campaign and LOD issues abundant, it’s extremely clear why split screen wasn’t implemented. The game runs well but you can absolutely see where they were forced to make HUGE cutbacks to keep it running well.

You’re obviously the simpleton. Please name a current serious game (Don’t say Minecraft) that uses split screen. You people love to complain about every little thing. I already know they want you to buy more consoles and more copies of the game…DUH…THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY. But you idiots are missing the technical aspect of it. The game runs faster and looks better then its predecessors in terms of graphics. This is next gen and its obvious some of you are stuck in the last gen.
I agree that campaign should have had it because the drop to 30FPS isn’t going to kill that experience or put you at a disadvantage. But then again I don’t work for 343i so I don’t know how hard that would have been to do or how it really would have affected the game since all components was developed with 60FPS in mind first and foremost.
Split screen in MP would have killed the experience though because of the framerate drop so I can’t blame them for keeping it out of that.
