Hello there ladies and gents. Let’s discuss ranking in Reach.
As I’ve recognized over the past few months, the Reach ranking system is flawed. No, not even even flawed; It’s to a level where it is unbearably noob-friendly.
For instance, take a game of infection I was playing sometime last week. In this game, there was a Hero with 4,265 kills and 13,108 deaths w/ maxed firefight commendations. Pretty sad, no? It gets better; this individual had logged 8 days worth of firefight matchmaking.
Now, how in hell should someone so horrific at a video game be such a high rank? One answer: credits.
Credits are disgraceful. They single-handidly ruin any type of true skill within the game.
If you win- Hooray! You get a payout for your hard work.
If you lose- Better luck next time. Here, we will give you the exact same amount of credits you would have gotten if you were winning because we want to make you feel better.
Do you see any epic 4-person flag runs any more like in Halo 3? No, because the desire to win isn’t there; what is the point of picking up deaths for your team if it doesn’t mean anything?
Bringing back the 1-50 will balance out all of this bs- It will put the players who want to be competitive in one section of the game and put the casuals who don’t take the game seriously in another section.
Sure, they’re will be some boosters; but with a few ingame reports, I’m sure they will be eliminated reasonably quickly.
So I beg of you 343; If you want to make Halo a competitive game again, and get back to the daily 200k - 300k we used to have on in Halo 3, please go through with the 1-50.
You’ve gotten a good start with Anniversary classic, ZB, and no AAs, now let’s see if you can real get the job done.
