Why Reach is BETTER than Halo 4

I first like to thank 343 for making a fantastic and most balanced halo to date. The following points are not in any way sarcasm. Here are 12 reasons why Reach is better than Halo 4.

Boltshot; best weapon to piss people off with and it’s reload glitch is fantastic.

Big Team Battle’s so great; stunning the piss weak warthogs with a plasie and sticking them twice or boarding and killing the tanks or mantis. Camo-Rogue sniping is also quite fun and balanced. Making it so you don’t need vehicles to win anymore.

Spartan Ops (Troll Ops) is great; I love afkers, vehicle team killers, plasma stunners, vehicle cripplers and teabaggers. Makes it alot funner as you don’t notice the repetitive maps.

Regicide; I love it when i’m king and everyone attacks me every 3 seconds and I do the best in the match and not win. Boltshot is so great i could see the logic behind making it a boltshot onlys gametype. SO MUCH BETTER THAN VANILLA FFA

Slayer; The maps are fantastice especially getting camped on abandon by a bunch of boltshot pros in the tower. Map control is great it works so well with dynamic spawns (or static?)

Matchmaking: I love how you added in-game join - joining a team losing and only has half the enemy teams score, but don’t worry you’ll still get the same exp as the winners :). I also enjoy how your true skill system just knows how to match you against parties or gives you noob team mates. It’s great when your matched with sucky team mates it adds more skill to the game (Someones gotta carry the team right?)

DMR; MOST UNDERPOWERED WEAPON IN THE GAME

Objective modes: I love playing against a whole party with randoms, the communication with us is like we’re best friends.

Ordnace; I love when I get pulse grenades, speed boost or shotgun when the enemy team gets rockets, railguns, snipers, damage boost, overshields ( still balanced when you have a boltshot)

Custom Games: I love how 343 stripped down custom options makes it so much easier to make -Yoink- gametypes. It’s great how you killed so many community gametypes based around race and infection.

Forge: Forge is fantastic the maps are so MASSIVE and there’s so many places to forge on. pretty cool hopefully Halo 5 will have 5 forgeworlds the size of the original.

Ranking System; NUFF SAID, you don’t need to see -Yoink- to know it’s -Yoink-

Can Someone Explain how this is better than REACH? As much as I hate playing with REachTARDS, It may be better than halo 4 :frowning:

I had a few problems with Reach, but I had 1000 times more fun on that game than I do when I play Halo 4. I played Reach from release, up until Halo 4 came out.

Why argue an opinion? If you like Reach better than play it and be happy.

Reach was the creation of Bungie , the guys who gave so much love with Halo CE,Halo 2,Halo 3 and Halo 3:ODST. Against their will they where forced to make a final farewell to the series so they opened a portal to the depths of eternal pain and thus came forth Halo: Reach.

343I is a new studio with the task to build upon the success of Halo:Reach, which was a bigger success then Halo 3 money wise. Therefor we are stuck with this game.

My point is: Bungie is the studio who created Halo, they should know better. 343i is new and merely tasked to build upon the most successful game money wise.
However, seeing as the playlists are already empty I hope they see that Halo 3 has the most longevity of all Halo games (not counting Halo 2)and build upon that.

Yes I’m reading the LOTR trilogy again but the depths of Khazad dum does not sound that cool

Halo 4 is non longer an arena style game… ergo shouldnt be called halo… worst than reach and that was a joke

I don’t agree with Reach being better than 4, but i wouldn’t say 4 is better than Reach either. Both have major major flaws.

I love the way Reach plays at it’s core. It’s a polished Halo. If the AAs were tweaked again or removed (except sprint), vehicles toughened up, BR added and DMR removed, playlists sorted out (1-50 added, action sack made good, etc) and many many forge maps replaced by originals, we’d have a winner imo.

Reach was the last Halo to be made. H4 steps into a new dimension. But it’s still a fun game to play.

If H4 gained the Halo funnyness back of 1,2,3 & Reach, dropped loadouts (but kept AAs), sorted it’s playlists out (1-50, action sack), new arena maps, forge fixing along with customs, and DMR removed completely, then we’d have winner again.

Hell just take me back to 2007 so i don’t put that Cod4 disk in and miss the great Halo 3 days you talk about! Least i was there for H2, so didn’t quite miss what isn’t to return?!

Reach isnt better but have less fails than H4.

I see that lots of players say that Reach is a bad Halo, but I don’t see why.
The worst aspect about Reach in my opinion was the maps. Most of them were recycled and there were few maps specially designed for vehicles (such as Sandtrap or Avalanche in Halo 3). Yeah, the armor lock was overpowered, but you could play as a sniper or as a warthog driver. Moreover, you could design any gametype and map you could imagine.
Now I find in this Halo 4 that my favourite aspect of the game, the vehicles, doesn’t work anymore. The gameplay is chaotic, and Halo 4’s forge and custom games are terrible. With sadness I’ve realized that Halo 4 is my biggest disappointment of all my gaming life.
I didn’t feel that when Reach came out. In fact, I couldn’t stop playing it. What I feel when I start Halo 4 is nothing but a deep disappointment.

The DMR is underpowered? Really?

I agree.

Reach was a deception for me after Halo3 but H4 is terrible.
I see more easy fix Reach for get a good halo game than fix H4.

i liked aspects of reach. I dislike like alot of reach’s gameplay however. This halo game needs: A competitive rank/playlist. Also needs a Non competitive playlist that is SILLY AS -Yoink-.

bring back action sack!! mix in some griffball/flood with halo 2’s action sack/halo 3s action sack and bam! tons of fun for when you dont wanna be serious.

also team snipers, no radar. Resupply grenades - maybe. And then. Armor abilities would probably be limited to none OR just a jet pack? or thruster pack. Like what do these do that is going to break a snipers game? other then close quarter fights the thruster pack is purely a movement object designed to save you from a double body shot. And a jet pack might or might not be a death trap waiting to happen every time you use it.

Wow, I can’t believe it has started already. People are already beginning to vehemently claim that Halo: Reach is/was better than Halo 4. This always happens within the Halo community. many of us will get overhyped for an upcoming Halo game, and once the game is released we’ll declare that we hate it, and state that it wasn’t as good as its predecessor despite previously hating that for the same major reason.

I can’t wait to hear how much better Halo 4 was than Halo 5, as soon as that game comes out. Never change, Waypoint, never change!

Agree, Halo 4 just feels clunked up and rubbish compared to Reach. I think one of the major problems I see and am having with the game is the inclusion of “ordnance” (Kill/scorestreaks but don’t say that… because remember according to them and everyone else, this is a NEW feature!) and removal of weapons on the map. When I was watching videos up until release I saw one that stated they would have weapons on the map like all other Halo’s, just it would be randomized. I thought “Oh bad -Yoink-, everyone will run to power weapons and it’ll be a crazy fight just like the other games but gives other people who aren’t good at remembering maps, a fighting chance against players like me”, so wrong.

Instead they put one round of weapons on the map to start with, then you can call in whatever you’re lucky enough to get once you have enough points (you can camp all you want to and get points for “distracting” or piling on “assists” (which I see more and more of than being able to get a clean kill). It literally breaks the game when you have 5 people running around with power weapons (Incinerator Cannon, Rocket Launcher, Fuel Rod, Sticky Detonator, and DAMAGE BOOST? This isn’t Unreal Tournament where you have UDamage. Take that crap out please). I thought the older Halo games had a heavy reliance on the power weapons, but I am so so wrong. This game uses it like a crutch and it’s a very poorly designed crutch at that.

I bought it 2 months after it came out i think.
21 days of total gameplay, 21 Days of total fun
In halo i have 2 days of gameplay and i am already getting bored

The genius of halo reach was the ranking system they came up with and the credits. Because it gave you something to work for. It took my a really long time to reach inheritor, And now in one month I am SR 130… where do I go from here??? Also My last specialization was tracker so now I have SR 130/Tracker, why don’t It say Master like they rank I’ve reached?

The funny thing is how you say Reach sucked, but you do not explain in any way at all. lol
