Why Quit Arena?

So over the past few days I’ve been grinding hard in that arena playlist and I’ve notice a lot of people have been quiting the game early. This isn’t from the losing teams though. I remember one game, it was CTF on Truth, my team is down 2-1, and we’re getting our butts handed to us. Then suddenly a player on the opposing team leaves. After that the tide turn and we easily capped our last 2 flags and won the game, which we shouldn’t have won at all.

Halo 5 has gives teams so many chances to come back and win matches. Especially Strongholds, where you can be down 99-10 and still have a chance to win. I can understand people leaving a BTB or Warzone where folks can drop in and out of games and be replaced very quickly. But quiting a game where people’s rankings could be on the line… I don’t know I just feel like you should finish out some hard games see where you can see where you can improve yourself for the next match.

What do you guys think? Is it ok to ditch your teammates in an arena match, despite matter whether you are winning or losing the game? Let me know.

If there was an active rp/xp bonus for finishing games maybe le would stay more? Reach implemented this tactic.

It’s not ok imo, unless most of your team quits. RP rewards are way too low for arena to warrant sticking around in a one sided match. I just played an match of arena strongholds which we won, and received a paltry 761 RP. The completion portion was 386 RP…

Yeah the last arena game I had to quit was because my entire team quit around 10 kills into a match of slayer and honestly the only reason I farm RP is for the chance at swaggy skins but back to the point. Leaving is definitely not ok.

If someone “quits” on a winning team, it’s almost always because they were unlucky and got DC’d. Because, unless Real Life happens, there’s no sane reason anyone on a team that’s winning a match will quit the game. It sucks to be that guy who got DC’d because the game does not tell your teammates that “Player has Disconnected”, it only says “Player has left the game”. I don’t know about anyone else, but when I see that, I always assume the teammate quit out on me and immediately wish horrible things happen to them. And, of course, since I’ve been DC’d from a game plenty of times (in winning and losing games), I’m sure my teammates in those games have wished similarly horrible things happen to me as well.

In any case, I personally never quit a game for any reason (Action Sack not included) outside of Real Life happening.
