This game draws peope to collectively get up, go out, and have fun with friends and play halo. With a huge 4k tv doing split screen halo at D&B, and many are asking to get a port? Come on, give this game a chance and go try it if your near D&B “when it come out”. You might make make some new friends and memories! At the very least it might draw new palyers into split screen halo, something the next generations of halo are suposed to have.
What do you guys think?
Some people such as myself don’t have any arcades anywhere within driving distance, that’s why we want a port. Also a new exclusive for this console we have sitting around would be nice, even if it’s a comparatively small arcade experience.
The problem with a home port is that this game is designed to be played across two TV screens. A home-port would require the game to be reworked heavily for a single screen, or force player to play across two screens.

Each players actual view appears to be limited to one screen. Players 1 and 2 appear to use the left screen and players 3 and 4 use the right. Just focus on one of those screens and it should be fine. You could have single player/2 player support for local play and up to 4 players for online play.

I would. But there’s many different major problems:
- The D&B’s establishments are only available on the US, and as such will be exclusive to the US (timed exclusive, then it will be distributed world-wide); - Xbox’s unpopularity in Portugal results in Halo’s popularity being basically non-existent. If I don’t talk about, no one would know; - Only 1 of my friends could potentially enjoy the game, but the rest, not really. Plus, PT players don’t really play much aside from the famous game like Fortnite, CSGO, etc; - It may not even be distributed in Portugal because of lack of popularity. Now, do you see why I can’t?

I don’t want a port if it’s going to use the -Yoink- Kinect. If we do get a port however, I just hope it will be revamped for controller use.

Nah, the Kinect’s 100%. No games will ever be released on it again.

Good.
I say bring it to the Xbox one after it’s had it’s run in Dave and Buster’s… Why not? It doesn’t have to be put on the console right away. Would be nice to bring it say for this holiday season or something.
Ok, ok, i would buy it if they made a port. Still it defeats the purpose, you know no one would play it in the arcade anymore, and the creators of it would get screwed over.

I’m pretty sure the other companies would get a cut of the profits from a port.
I mean, 343 did say that “Halo: Fireteam Raven will debut exclusively at Dave & Busters but will be available for purchase by distributors and other venues later this year.” I mean, its better than nothing

they are not in the buisness of making xbox games, their ethics and goals are rooted in the experiences of arcade games. This is about thier company and what they proudly acomplished. And yeah, obviously they want to make money, but if less people use thier porduct in the arcade, they loose credibility in their area of expertise. What dave and busters will want to buy their next big gamble on a arcade cabinet, if no one uses it. We allready know their expensive and take up alot of space, so D@B is taking alittle risk putting it in.

No more risk than any other arcade cabinet. The team behind Fireteam Raven had to get funding from somewhere, so someone seems to think that the arcade market, although niche, can still be lucrative. And D&B is not really taking any risk, because the fact they’re still in business means that either they see success running arcades in their establishments or they get enough profits from selling food & drink that it makes up for what they put into the arcades. I’m sure adding/removing arcade games is normal for D&B.

These guys have made a lot of very successful arcade games. One game getting a port at some point after their initial release is not going to damage their reputation in the slightest. Hell, the game could flop on its own and it’d be chalked up as the exception rather than the rule.
I’m not gonna lie, I think this would be really boring to play on the Xbox. It was created with an arcade experience in mind, and I don’t seeing it being any fun on a gaming console. Also, it’s important to consider the business aspects that factor into all of this.
Not everything needs to be ported.
