As of the 5th of December I reached SR-130 and obtained all the achievements in Halo 4.
At the moment I’m struggling to find any incentive to play it for more that 10 minuets at a time a few days a week, The game play is broken compared to previous Halo games so for me it doesn’t warrant a play for the sake of the fun game play like Halo 2 or 3 would. I know I’ll appear as one of those idiots who just criticizes the game but I genuinely can’t be bothered to list all the trivial things that accumulate within the game play as I’m pretty sure there is allot of constructive criticism going around anyway, and that it won’t be taken note of by anyone. The population of players is dwindling so rapidly it’s sad, even long time players on my list that have been into Halo for a decade are done with it. Later I’ll write a proper post about changes that I and others would welcome.
Are there going to be any more ranks to achieve?
Are you going to make any smaller maps or remakes other that more big team maps?
That’s why it would be good to have a legit ranking system in the game not the website. But honestly do you just play for ranks? I find that stupid. I play the game because I find it fun, I couldn’t careless about that garbage SR- rank.
Even if I did one day reach 130, I’d still play because its fun and because I enjoy playing. While I do hope that they update the playlist with new additions and fixes (along with other parts of the game like the File Browser), overall, as far as incentives go, I’m playing Halo because its fun.
Back in my day, we played Halo 2 and the ELO 1-50 ranking system was such a joke because of modders, that we actually played the game for fun and did customs.
its a boring game that isnt fun like h3 always was… i wish i could go back and play h3 but there is not enough people playing it otherwise i would be all over that -Yoink-

You’re the minority. Now games need shiny new armor to unlock and meaningless ranks to progress in order to keep a fan base.
But these developers forget that it gets old after a week. I have no incentive to play other than to get better for when (hopefully) a visible skill rank is released.

So he’s played a tonne of matchmaking and got 130 but you don’t think he was playing for fun? I’m an 89 currently and I’ve been having a lot of fun.
The rank system is far too easy to advance in though and you’re just deluding yourself if you think otherwise in my opinion.

Hardly time wasted, at least there was something to aim for. Now there is nothing. You didn’t even read my post did you?
Halo 2 and 3 had skill ranks to aim for, infinite xp and AMAZING gameplay.
Halo: Reach had Inheritor which was a light year away and Arena which failed at the least.
Halo 4 has SR 130 and nothing else. [i.e. no gameplay worth playing for]

“Good” and “personally enjoyable” aren’t necessarily the same thing. A game can be arguably good yet unenjoyable on an individual basis. Likewise, a game can be arguably bad, and enjoyable on an individual basis.
You aren’t enjoying the game anymore because you don’t feel an incentive to play. So in your eyes, the game isn’t “good.” I’m enjoying the hell out of the game though, and fully intend to continue playing as long as I do regardless of whether I ever hit the level cap. So my perception differs.
I suggest that if the game isn’t fun enough to enjoy without an additional incentive to play, you abandon it. Why play, even if they add more levels, if it isn’t fun on its own? That’s your prerogative.
