I see a lot of people saying that halo 3 was one of the best halo games and I agree. (i personally like the first 2 better though.) the reason why I believe it was so great is not only did it close a chapter in the greatest story ever, have awesome multiplayer/campaign, and full of epic moments. but it was made to be nostalgic. the way it was designed was obviously going to cause some nostalgia attacks in the future, but even at its time it would have caused flashbacks to the two games before it. let me explain.
the music was a huge factor. remixing old songs, mostly from ce, was a great idea and added small bits to the halo feeling without changing to much. (343 you should look into that.)
now the main thing that I thought about was the final level, halo. which not only is named after the second mission in halo ce, but it had a lot of aspects in the mission that related directly to halo ce. the warthog, returning to installation 04, and being back in the control room all made you feel like you were in an evolved version of combat evolved and was made to bring back that feeling to the players that was filling the gaming community back in 2001.
Halo 3 was a game changer and the last BIG Halo game before competition really started rising up. When I say competition I mean Call of Duty, Gears of War, and other BIG game titles that started taking attention away from Halo. Halo 3 was popular because Bungie was fully committed to listen and interacting with the community. Sharing maps and gametypes players made via Forge, sharing clips and pictures from multiplayer, introducing new Double EXP playlists every weekend, having “Community Play Dates” a few times a month, Beta testing Halo 3 before it’s release which was unheard of for console games. Halo 3 was an incredible experience that meant alot to the people playing and growing up with the game. It’s a game Ill never forget. The friends, memories, and experiences

a common… thes listen so much the community but the come reach with sprint, amore ambility´s and the other stuffß
i mean i like the new stuff, but when you read the community here you will see the most people here don´t like the new stuff.
I love the gameplay and the campaign levels, and of course the music. There were many really epic moments in the campaign, some of which were not necessarily major but nonetheless are so fun to play every single time (fighting the Scarab in “The Storm”, riding out of the destroyed base in “Tsavo Highway” with the sun blinding you for a split second, flying the Hornet several times in “The Covenant”, and arriving at the Ark of course). Minus “Cortana”, it is my favorite campaign to play through, the only one I’ve successfully beaten on my own several times.

This. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Halo 3 just feels right. The gameplay, the music, the voice acting, the graphics, the story, the buildup, the execution, and practically everything offered in terms of multiplayer.
Halo 3 was very fun I only wish halo 5 could have had the same popularity.
Halo 3 was absolutely amazing to me, mostly because of the feelings I have/had experienced in the campaign, being I didn’t have Xbox Live back in the day. Just looking for the skulls, terminals, easter eggs, etc. was a -Yoink- ton of fun, and I will never forget those days. After beating the campaign on Legendary with my brother though, we would play splitscreen together, which was a lot of fun and something we did quite regularly. If I wanted to play some Halo multiplayer online, I would go on Halo CE. THAT is where a majority of my hours for multiplayer stand.
Halo 3 its a epic gamee!!
i would say its because of the multplayer thats the only reason why i like it
thank god someone bumped this, it is a perfect explanation of what made halo 3 the god it’s once was (out of what I remember as a little kid :P). I just wish it could all come back and say -Yoink- you to all the new things we don’t like in new games or that some new hit game would make it happen again.
