Has to be the single biggest frustration with Halo 5. Level 71 and purchased God knows how many req packs and still havent unlocked the DMR!!!
Get lots of armor that all looks pretty much the same or another logo that doesnt have the valkyrie anymore!
What is the secret and why cant I unlock the best loadout weapon in Halo!!!

Keep opening Silver packs and hope for the best.
I hope your buying silver and not wasting your points on gold.
Around 80ish is the average time people get those. Just keep opening those silvers it will come
Am I alone in thinking 71 isn’t that high level necessarily? But keep grinding you will get it eventually or buy the $99 gold pack bundle and really open some packs… you should get it then. 
Just have to sit and sulk for another 10 levels I guess then!!
I know your pain, I only need the DMR left to complete the Loadout Weapon Commendation, but I keep unlocking skins for the DMR but never unlocking a DMR. Luckly 2 days ago I finally unlocked a DMR & I’m level 57, unfortunetly its a REQ level 8 DMR so the odds of me using it during a match is not high.
I got my rare Req 6 DMR at rank 60 and bought 10 silver pack to get it , so basically just save enough points to get ALOT of silver packs.
Got mine around 85.
DMR’s also have this weird thing where sometimes they wont drop from silvers despite being a Rare req.

I got my DMR around SR63 but I have to wait until REQ lvl. 8 for me to use it because it has that barrel sight.
By that time I would’ve had my BR with the bayonet on it.

I have a friend who unlocked both Linda’s Sniper & Kelly’s Helmet at the same time around level 20, without buying REQ packs with money. I got very salty on how lucky he was.
Oh ya he also got a DMR on his first REQ pack he opened after getting the game…so much salt from me.

I hear ya retrowoody, I’ve been holding out for one to Bruh. I think it’s just a really randomized req system, especially when it comes to permanent unlocks like weapons and armor abilities. As much as I hate to say it I think all someone can really do is ride out the game and hope for the best. ( on the up side though, at least they don’t give out duplicates for permenant unlocks.)

Some people get lucky and unlock the DMR Cert early on, but most seem to get it between 70 and 80 from my observations. I was in between. Got a req level 8 dmr cert at around 52 and then the base dmr cert just before 60.

Yep, we were all so mad at how lucky she was.
I am SR-36 and just unlocked a variant of the DMR finally! Just hang in there and buy the silver packs. It isn’t a super rare item and should be fairly easy to get through those.
Think I got mine around level 50 or so…
open nothing but silver packs and pray
Just stick to buying silvers now if you want that dmr. Buying gold won’t help your chances and will cost more RP.
I got lucky and unlocked a DMR in my sub 20 ranks, but honestly a lot of people don’t grind the reqs properly bronze>silver>gold…
