IT’s not a SPARTAN helmet. It’s an Odst helmet. Why would a spartan wear a helmet made for an ODST. It’s not suppose to support shields, let alone spartans.

Different tech developed by different people. Sure the mjolnir helmet might be superior PER SE but what if the past helmet possessed some features that the mjolnir armor makers did not think of or was not available at the time? It could also simply be an aesthetic design induced name

Makes sense. I actually thought about this when I played reach. Rocked ODST armor for a while the realizes they aren’t Spartans. They are elite marines. So I changed it. Personally its a really cool helmet and it is iconic. But OP has a good point

I’d have to say that the Helmets in Halo 4 are outstanding and that I won’t miss the ODST or Mark V helmets. I think they are outdated and this is a new breed of Spartans with new technology.
Doesn’t make me any less dissapointed, sorry.
I mean, its not like I’ve had every aspect that I’ve used for my halo identiy stripped away from halo 4.

During the Human-Covenant War, the ODST BDU was based on advancements from the Mjolnir program. It’s very possible there are version of Mjolnir that look like ODST armor.
Beyond that, who cares about the canon when it comes to multiplayer customization?
