I love ordinance as I think it varies the gameplay in Halo a lot more than the tired same old marathon.
Anyway, I think it would be kind of cool the spawn in like ordinance drops down from the sky, like ODSTs. You can even make it some kind of gametype or something, but obviously for a different gametype there would have to be other things involved to make it a gametype. What those things could be, I don’t know. I just like the idea of dropping in from the sky and slamming into the ground.
Anyhoo.
I always wanted to Orbital Drop into a match, maybe like from Invasion, or maybe even just the beginning of a match but then we spawn regularly afterwards.
Though it does sound cool, the influence that top control / peoples positioning on the maps often forces people to spawn in lower ground, often under cover. e.g spawning on the bottom flaw of Haven. Unless your planning on dropping through the floor then…
You may argue that we could use a similar mechanic to the weapon Ordnance that spawns under cover, but would that not make the drop redundant?
To be honest it would be more of an annoyance than cool. I would rather not give away my location on the map to drop like an ODST. The game doesn’t like you looking at the spawn system anyway. So basically nobody would see it often.

It’s just a video game.

Yes, and some people like me like this type of stuff XD
This would look awesome but could only really work on big maps, and would not work for smaller maps.
Be also cool for any maps in space, that you could dock and break in.
This would work great if Halo ever had a Battlefield like game, with massive maps.

Awesome!
The next Halo, as well as 4v4 small maps, must have freaking large 16v16 or 32v632 Battlefield 3 type maps for vehicle play. Over head hovers the Infinity from which we spawn and respawn into MM.
My answer to this thread: a video game called “Section 8.” You can even kill people if you manage to land on them at full speed.
