Is it seriously so much trouble to have something other than RED v BLUE every game? I see in custom games that there are 8 total colors, each of which can be nicely opposed to its neighbor:
Red–Blue
Gold–Green
Purple–Lime
Orange–Cyan
I realize this would be a purely cosmetic alternation, but so much of this game is already spent on cosmetics and dress-up that we might as well add the other colors to matchmaking if for no other reason than to help what is fast becoming a very repetitive online experience.
I’ve been asking for this since the days of Halo 3. There’s no reason not to mix in some variation. It could be randomly selected, or added to the map choices during the pre-game poll.
(Also why are there maps on the disc that are not being used? Here you have the audacity to make us pay for what amounts to a season pass for your upcoming ‘DLC’ (which should be restyled to ‘DLK’ for Downloadable Key) and you don’t even bother to integrate the full roster of maps that come installed on the disc? Are you trying to aggravate us?)
You know, i don’t have any qualms with the first suggestion. While it’s purely cosmetic, it’s whatever really.
It’s the second DLC issue that makes you sound like another self entitled Halo fan. While true, this game could use more Forge support for smaller maps and what not, you could have taken an entirely different tone. ;/
Right, I’m an entitled fanboy because I want to play on the maps that everyone already has instead of having to pay for new maps that only a minority of the population is going to get.

Why go to all the trouble of putting these designs in the game if 90% of your playerbase will never even see them? Surely it would not be hard to add them to matchmaking.

They way you said it, makes you sound like one.
People should have to pay to play MM, there should be filters that filters out people who don’t have DLC maps out of your search, if you have DLC, and if you don’t, then you shouldn’t be bothered by it, cause you should be able to do a match search as normal, and it’ll match you with people who either don’t have the new DLC, or has opted to not mark the DLC map filter.

Oh no, please don’t disregard me, my self-esteem can’t handle it!

Exactly. I don’t think people realize how much better even something as simple as changing colors per game can be. We as humans tend to get bored of anything that is continuously repeated over and over. We’ve seen red vs blue for years now. The only time we got to see the other colors were in rumble pit and multi team =/
