I don’t want to waste my money on something I don’t want. I want armor that reflects who I AM. Seriously, or at least, let me earn those req points and use those to buy the armor I want. I want to feel like I earned that armor, instead of getting lucky.

You just need to play and that’s it. It’s actually really easy
I think it’s more exciting and makes me keep working at them to unlock with a potential surprise of a good piece! It would be too easy to have each customisation option have a cost. Boring.
I don’t think having the option to buy armor for an extremely high RP cost would ruin anything. You still can purchase packs and randomly get armor, or you can work towards that one piece of armor that you really want. Either way, you have to play a bunch to get what you want.
