so I’m obviously not gonna give away my location, but lets just say that where I live there should be way more Microsoft stores, but the nearest one is like an hour and a half or two hours away, and if traffic is regular, it’ll easily be a two and a half hour drive.
As you can imagine, this has basically discouraged me from ever going to one of the “local” Halo or Gears or any other video game mini tournaments that are held at these stores.
Clearly, Microsoft stores are not the ideal places to hold tournaments because many people, including myself, don’t live any reasonable distance away from a Microsoft store. So how about branching out beyond their very few stores and expanding them to other locations where video games can be played in public? I mean, there’s some mall I live 30 minutes from that has some giant room full of a million TV’s and Xbox’s that could easily hold a tournament.
Maybe I’m ignorant of just how expensive it would be for them to rent out places for the sake of holding Halo tournaments, but in all reality, it would bring back a lot of older players whose best memories involve having LAN parties with their friends in the early days of Halo, and it would be a great refresher to play against people in the same room as you and not across the earth. Just my guess.
