Why not have it all?

You have your slayers, your territories, your objectives, your zombies, your free-for-all’s…

I say bring in Rocket Hog/Rocket race and grifball as permanent playlists. I personally loved rocket race, but they were both great additions for those of us that constantly wanted to play something in the halo universe but eventually got tired of always killing, or at least tired of killing with the same old guns in the same way over and over.
Why not racing?
why not the hammer-sport?
How about bring Big Team Covies back for one helluva light show during slayer games.
Here’s an idea, let’s give everyone an over-powered, one hit kill, hammer and have them ride around on the mongeese with a partner in a team based fashion! oh the hilarity that could ensue. First team to win [UNSPECIFIED] kills wins the game (just to get a thought started).

Or heck, I know I also read an idea somewhere else about an all snipers game using only the binary rifle.
Let’s get some more variety of (and bring back some old) things to do in Halo =D

Halo is an FPS game - so I’d rather have it do what it does best. I don’t think Rocket Race was ever a particularly fun game type, since the Warthog/Mongoose always flips out of control. It’s alright for goofing around in customs, but not for Matchmaking. Grifball is quite heavily host based and not al that fun in MM - again, mostly just a custom games thing.

If I wanted to race, I’d play Mario Kart or Forza, if I wanted to play a sports game I’d go and buy FIFA or something, since these do what you’re asking for much better than Halo 4 would.

I’d love to see Big Team Covies or something though - I think we do need some MM game types to be mixed up a bit rather than just vanilla Slayer all the time - but lets not lose sight of the fact that Halo is an FPS, eh?

No.

This game is a major regression in the franchise.

I DID mention wanting to continue playing something in the Halo Universe settings, but just a little different.
Me and my friend(s) loved RRace. It was the only gametype where I could put on some fun music, enjoy driving around the maps to various points, and be able to watch fireworks from both up close and afar. Unlike all slayer games where I turn my volume up and my music off so I can hear various details around the map for sake of teammate coordination.
The only reason for RRace not being enjoyable was when people abused the gametype to boost their K/D, but all you have to do to eliminate that is play on maps with no borders you can fall off, eliminate the ability to kill other players, and keep the “Teleport back to vehicles” active from Halo Reach.
