Why Not Go Back?

To halo 3? after the recent update dropped i cannot stand halo 4 and have gone back to halo 3 and have more fun playing it than 4 or reach.
I see alot of people still hating 4 and reach but do any of you remember that people are still playing 3? The classic experience you seek is still there and lag issues are almost non existent and matches are easier and faster to find than they are in 4.
Come abck to halo 3 and keep it alive , dont keep this turd known as halo 4 above water any longer!

Because some of us actually don’t mind Halo 4…

EDIT: Look, your statement is based upon opinion and your own connection to the internet. I have pretty laggy games when I play Halo 3 and I don’t really when I play Halo 4. I’m not blaming anyone, but that’s just how it is. I like Halo 4 for other reasons too, but that’s not what I’m here to say.

Besides, if people don’t like Halo 4, I’m pretty sure they are smart enough to figure that they can just play a past Halo game that suits their preferences.

I’d LOVE to come back to Halo 3, if they’d move the graphics over from Halo 4 then it would be amazing

I like Halo 4 maybe? It has it’s issues and things I dislike but it’s not as horrible as I thought Reach was. For some reason when I play Halo 3 I get 3 shots out of the BR and it stops firing for a second. There almost always seems to be a delay between the 3rd and 4th shot. It drives me nuts.

Desperate man this post is Done!!!

Why would you go back to Halo 3 at this point, unless you just want to play for nostalgia’s sake? It simply doesn’t have a large population, and it will see no future growth.

If you’re thinking too that the next Halo should revert back to be more like Halo 3, I also think that’s a mistake. If you look at the charts from 2008, Call of Duty had already surpassed Halo 3 in terms of players for that entire year, except for the month of July. COD occupied the top spot and Halo 3 the 2nd spot. I think Bungie looked at the numbers from that year and realized they had to try something to regain the top spot. So they created Reach a few years later, which I think was a big mistake. I give them credit for trying something different, but they probably could have come out with a game more in line with Halo’s core from 1,2,3 and done remarkably better.

For most of the year following Reach’s release, COD:Black Ops and MW2 owned the top 2 spots. And from that point on, the Halo population has been in serious decline.

Halo 4 opened its first week with over 400,000 players, but after only a week’s time, that population had already been cut in half. There’s something about 4 that people just didn’t like.

But I don’t believe reverting back to Halo 3 at this point will re-energize the population. They’ve already introduced too much new stuff that some players will complain about not having in Halo 5. If they get rid of AAs, ordinance drops, etc. , after Halo 5 comes out there will be a segment of the population complaining about these items being missing.

In summary, I don’t think going back to Halo 3 is the future for Halo. The beloved Halo 3 was already surpassed by Call of Duty, and the problem was compounded by releasing Reach years after COD already two more titles. COD’s process is just better. Releasing a game every year was a smart business decision on their part and effectively killed Halo.

I really thought Halo 4 had a nice idea with the Spartan Ops. I felt they could have kept players playing the game for a long while if they had released more seasons throughout the year, and if they had made all the maps and missions different. It was way too repetitive and gets boring fairly quickly.

As a marketing person, I’m interested to see the strategy 343 takes in the next installment. Will they revive it or finally kill Halo once and for all.

huh. never seen this kind of post before…

ill just agree to disagree. as stated above, theres really no point.

^except for you know…having fun

Halo 4 has become much better after the TU in my opinion.

343 did a great job, they learn from mistakes and try to fix it

I agree that Halo 4 feels better after the TU to me as well.
