Why not can't we rejoin ranked?

I do not understand why we would not be able to have someone rejoin their game in ranked. Some people do have crashes but are able to get back online quickly so what is the deal with not being able to get back?

I think it would pause the game to have you rejoin, like in the old games when people left the game would stop for everyone.

This feature should have been implemented years ago and in older Halo games - it exists in games already.

But imagine this: Your PC or console crashes. You rejoin 5 minutes later, only to find your team loosing by an astronomical amount. You lose, and then get the loss/derank when you didn’t actual put that much effort into the loss. I’m not entirely sure how it would be fair to give anyone a win/loss when they didn’t participate for most of the match.

If it takes you that long to reboot up Halo then don’t rejoin but it usually takes me less than a minute to get back on. There could also be a short pause period of maybe 30 seconds to a minute.

I wish this was a thing in infinite. Recently, I was 32-2 in an oddball game with us winning the second round, then my Xbox crashed and I get a loss of csr

I’m sure a loss and a quit would (or should) result in a different mmr change

There’s literally no reason to not have it lol. If you can have ppl join mid match during quickplay and other modes, you can do it in ranked too. Probably an oversight tbh.

That said, I think that if your team loses a person, and you lose, you shouldn’t have any loss of ranking as 3v4 in a competitive setting definitely isn’t equal footing. You shouldn’t be punished for your teammate and their crash/bad connection/etc

This is something I would like to see implemented into the game as well.

It has been well over the launch, and this rejoin feature is yet to be added—crashing, internet issues and bugs lead to people disconnecting against their will. I am sure that all of you out there that play competitively hate getting your MMR down by these issues, but not only that, you can also get banned for it. I love this franchise, but poor decision-making is reducing the player count by a lot. I hope 343 does something fast.
