To clarify, “Search and Destroy” is from the Call of Duty games. A very popular game mode. You have one life and there are a defending and attacking team. Defending defends the two bombs. Attacking has to arm and defend the armed bomb until detonation.
I am mostly asking for a one life game mode. Not really anything like Search and Destroy. And being able to spectate the remaining surviving members. That is what the most fun about S and D. It’s intense. And the only game mode I really like in CoD.
Please no hate because of the Call of Duty referance. I like Halo better anyways.
One of my favs from COD is headquarters,
its like King of the hill except those that capture the hill own the hill and dont re spawn while they own the hill but the attackers do re spawn. So when you own the hill its like defending from a never ending wave of attackers and just trying to hold out as long as you can with one life. then when the attackers destroy the base or time runs out a new base spawns and it starts again.
Idk if it would make a good fit for Halo, maybe it would maybe it wouldn’t. Just saying its a cool gametype thats worth a thought.
> Why not? There is only one one-life mode in SnD. Why not one in Halo? Infected is kind of one life, but you respawn as a zombie.
Well because in Halo a significantly more amount of skill is involved, teamwork is more essential and in gametypes with one life/no respawn competitive game types tend to fail due to inbalance of team skill, inbalance of individual skill and the luck factor.
The more recreational gametypes are ones meant more for one-life games.
We need a Striker Vs. Juggernaut infection gametype, that infection type is the best by far and the most frantic. OT: Im ok with a Search and Destroy gametype but a Demolition gametype would be better

But its fun
When I play MW3 with my friends we usually do Search and everyone only does trickshots and no scopes just to show off in the final kill cam
wow i clicked on this thread expecting to see a bunch of fanboys flaming op for suggesting a fun gametype from cod im glad my expectations were not met.

My same thoughts, good to see some actually play COD and still enjoy the path Halo 4 is going
It’s funny you say that, I hosted an event July 20th called Community Forge Mornings where we build a map based around that gametype. Both the map and gametype should be in my fileshare. When we played the game, it was actually a lot of fun in Halo… I would be down for this idea.

This. In CoD it’s good because 1 guy can kill multiple enemies with no problem. In Halo it’s much harder, especially when being team shot.

Then you know what I think? When and if Halo 4 has a Beta, they should have a one life game mode. Try it out.
