Why No UNSC Air Vehicle?

I mean, sure, we have the Phaeton and the Banshee, but as one-man crafts, those leave a nice vehicle niche for the Falcon or Hornet as having the opportunity to transport teammates in the air–especially in the craziness that is Warzone.

Just curious as to what spurred this decision? Was it cut out of necessity, or did you just not see room for it in the sandbox?

Idk we’re lacking in team oriented aircraft but I think 343i has intentions of adding more to the game post launch so here’s hoping for the hornet.

Dp

I don’t see, how they couldn’t find the time for it to include it at launch. They had more or less 3 years, like every other Halo game, to make it. Guess they have to catch that deadline set by the publisher. Besides, there never was anything else added to any of the Halo games post launch, except new maps, so I don’t know where they/we got that idea. The absence of a UNCS flying vehicle was a big miss in Halo 4, since they pissed so many fans off, including me.

I am sure 90% of fans would like to see the Falcon in H5G.

Considering the Phaeton is pretty much a teleporting Hornet, everyone mad that there is no human air vehicle should just pretend it’s a Hornet.

Yeah, I would’ve taken a Hornet over a new forerunner air vehicle. It’s a nitpick, but oh well…

Because 343 hates us all and wants me to be miserable. I probably won’t buy the game until the put in a Falcon.

Jk. But seriously, add a daggum Falcon that handles like it did in Reach.

It isn’t though…Hornets can fit 3 players in them, the Phaeton can only fit 1.

True. I just don’t remember seeing anyone use it but for specific objective purposes.

343i and their habits of cutting key mechanics and elements of the game people want, and replacing them with stuff people never asked for. Similar to ESO. They can rip the model from H2A for all I care, long as we have an actual UNSC flyable vehicle in MM/Customs

The answer is simple it is because the UNSC have friggin Tanks and we all know “Tank Beats Everything”.

I’d love a UNSC air vehicle, but as others have pointed out, the Phaeton functions very similarly to the Hornet, and I’d imagine new vehicles take priority after the really basic stuff (Warthog, Ghost, Banshee, both tanks).

Based on how they worded their statement specifically to say “not at launch”, I’m hoping this means we get the Falcon or the Hornet through REQ cards post-launch. Pelicans too, but that’s a pipe dream the fans have been chasing for almost 15 years now.

True

Well because Pelicans in MP would be really OP…

Preach on, preach on!

The lack of a friggin UNSC Aircraft really annoys me. The Hornet is my favorite vehicle to fly (I’ve nearly gone an entire match with it on Avalanche) and the Falcon, while cool, lacks a front facing gun for the pilot, making it useless. it can’t even transport people due to the only seats in MP being the turrets (weird decision…).

If they bring the Hornet back, at least add a single hornet gun to the front to give it some defense if there’s no willing teammates, and then make it so the other seats can be utilized. Perfect for CTF.

I think it was more they were aiming for NEW things to add, not rehashing the same crap over and over. The Falcon isn’t really needed.
