All three map packs have been released, and not one of them contained a remake from a previous Halo game. Why? I remember Halo 3 had some great previous Halo remakes like Avalanche, Last Resort, Cold Storage (was even free), Heretic, Blackout.
I say they release a final map pack, covered by the War Games Map Pass, featuring 3 remakes from pervious Halo games.
Thoughts?
NO!
I purchased a new game, therefore I expect new content. I’m so tired of people living in the past.
We have Forge, go remake them there.
Are you saying that remakes would somehow degrade the game in some way?..By living in the past? What the hell are you talking about. It’d just make the game more fun.
Man, what you just said is just like saying you’d rather play a new Metroid instead of Metroid Prime.
And also, it would be “new content” considering they’d be BONUS REMAKES made with HALO 4 graphics.

That is correct.
Example:
Why is it that COD gets so much hate for being the same with every release yet for some odd reason, Halo is exempt from this mentality?
I want Halo to continue moving forward and the very small minority here on the forums to stop trying to get the developers to make a carbon copy of a previous Halo game.
I hope they are making a Halo 2 Anniversary and will release it this holiday season. That would have several remakes like last years Halo CE: Anniversary. With the Halo 4 engine, this would be sooo cool!
Probably because of Sprint those old maps wouldn’t work as they weren’t designed without it in mind.
Making a single map pack specifically for remakes isn’t making a carbon copy of a previous Halo game.
Assassin, they did remake Valhalla, so I think remaking a few other maps wouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
> Probably because of Sprint those old maps wouldn’t work as they weren’t designed without it in mind.
Armor Abilities, Tactical Packages, and Support Upgrades too.
With the addition of AA’s, fully customizable loadouts and armor mods, I think 343 has made the video-game overly difficult to well-design.

Hence all the large maps with entire sections of the map that are never used.

I don’t know how you play, but every single game I’m in battles that are constantly moving through the entire map. I cannot think of one match out my entire time playing this game were I wasn’t battling in a part of a map.
We all saw how the Ragerok turned out. I’d rather have original maps which are made with the differing gameplay in mind.

How about the bases on Longbow? Not the ones in the middle of the map, the ones you spawn in. I’ve only seen snipers use them.
The only remakes I would want in a legit map pack is Battle Creek, Sidewinder, Gephyrophobia, Hang 'em high, Death Island, Boarding Action and Infinity. So many memories with those maps…

I was just playing a match on there and a couple major battles focused over there. A warthog even tried to drive in to run some over. It was pretty epic.

That could be solved pretty easily if we had static spawns and consistent power weapon spawning on maps.

Every match I’ve ever played those bases could almost completely untouched. They’re out of the way and offer no incentive to go there other than to hide and snipe. It’s just poorly designed, it might work for CTF, but we don’t have BTB objective.

You already said this in your previous response. Why are you talking in circles?
Guys, we could talk about the flaws of current maps all day. A final remake map pack would simply benefit this game greatly, and add to what it lacked.

I said the bases were rarely used, you said they weren’t, I said why they normally aren’t and how they could potentially work.
Do you have any further comments on Longbow’s design not providing incentives for map movement?

I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. Just stop talking. You’re talking in circles expecting a different response or for me to give in and agree with you. I don’t and won’t, so give it up.
Despite your belief, I love this game and I think it’s the best thus far. If you want to have discussion about it, fine, but stop talking in circles.
