No, this thread isn’t about the color. It’s about the absolute absent of any Covenant themed multiplayer maps.
It really is a disappointment. While there were not many in the previous Halo’s (Halo 2 had Midship and Gemini, Halo 3 had Heretic, Assembly, Snowbound (To an extent), Halo Reach had Spire (To an extent) and Zealot. The only piece of Covenant in the Halo 4’s Multiplayer Maps, aside from detailing in the distance on Landfall and such, is broken ship pieces in Wreckage.
We have plenty of UNSC and Forerunner gray playspaces, let’s get a bit of that dark purple in - the curved hallways, the little flashing lights, anything!
And it wouldn’t be that hard to incorporate into Halo 4’s War Games story. Take Gemini for example. Description would be:
“This ancient sanctuary of the Prophets now serves as a training ground for the Spartan IV’s.”
> However, 343i made it clear from the start that this game focuses on the UNSC. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Covie maps anytime soon.
This is why I’m still iffy on the “Well, War Games is now part of the story too!” While it’s pretty cool, I want to be able to shoot all of you in the faces on a wide array of maps and environments - not the extremely Grey UNSC/Forerunner we got now.
Besides, War Games goes on in a simulator. It shouldn’t matter if “Well, this game is based on UNSC…” So? You’re in a simulator - you can make WHATEVER you want in it to fight on.

Well if the War Games can simulate UNSC and Forerunner environments, not sure why Covenant themed ones would be a stretch. Heck, since the Covenant are enemies it would be essential to train in Covies environments.

Exactly. It fits for the story purposes of War Games, and also just gives us something not neutral colored to play on.
Say they were to make Assembly. Tie it into the story with something like: “This Scarab Plant serves as the basis for a Spartan Assault on -Insert Planet Name Here-”

Exactly. I mean they put Valhalla in the game despite it not being set on Requiem, yeah its in Spartan Ops but it literally isn’t on Requiem still, a Covie map should be a no brainer.

A lot of the maps aren’t on Requiem, but even if 343 wants to use that as an excuse, make a map on a Covenant ship stationed above Requiem. It isn’t that hard!
Not only that, but there are no covie environments in the game at all! None in the campaign. None in multiplayer. The ONLY covie environment in the game, and this is arguably an environment, is the Harvester. THAT’S IT.
I was sorely disappointed, and it further proves the point that Covies in this game serve only as cannon fodder.

Another reason this game sucks. No covie locations "(
A lot of the Halo 4 Elite ranks are very hard to distinguish, they almost look the same from a distance. Not to mention the green armored Elites are hideous.
