Proximity voice helped to make the game feel real, it was one of the many little touches along with assassinations that gave you a bit of flair in-game. Just bring it back as a toggle, I don’t care if “not all players use it”, not all players buy battle passes either but you sure didn’t let THAT change your precious Roadmap. Bring back latacy features, stop cutting them.
Proximity chat hasnt been a thing since Halo 2.
Proximity chat has got to be the most underrated feature in modern games.
Was playing Insurgency Sandstorm and being able to hear enemy chatter when you’re near them brings so much immersion into the game.
It was in halo 3 as well I thought
Yup it was definitely in Halo 3, along with pre-game and post-game lobbies, and the ability to easily party up. Lots of social features were available that are part of what made Halo fun.
343 tried to remove as many of the social features as possible and then they wonder why Halo Infinite isn’t popular.
Proximity chat in splinter cell was clutch. Drop down on someone, whisper in their ear and crack their neck.
I mean, I could get having it as an OPTION, but I don’t see it as one that would be widely used. Doesn’t matter what game you’re playing; if you’ve got a headset in and you’re not linked to a closed chat with friends, all you’re gonna hear from the open chat is under-20’s and NEETs screaming racial slurs at you; fact of the matter is, having impotent white Westerners screech Klan rhetoric in your ear isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time.
Like, why is playing micless (or at least being connected to a separate voicechat from the general lobby) more common these days? Because children are annoying and the loudest strangers on the Internet are racist.
I don’t remember PC in Halo 3 at all, are you sure it wasn’t a “post death” mic?
Not anyone’s idea of a good time, speaking for yourself there mate not the community. I’m 30 and if people wanna scream at me whilst I’m smashing a few games of Halo, then hell I’m screaming right back at them. You wanna run me over then I’m telling you where to go, if I stick you with a plasma you better go screaming to mummy.
Game chat is incredible - it should be on a toggle system so people have the choice to either listen to it all or not. Game chat is amazing and people should be able to speak freely and call me whatever the heck they want and vice versa
don’t wanna listen to it then turn if off.
Most likely removed because of the times we live in, where people cannot handle what other people say.
Most would probably disable it right away even if they had kept it.
The acts of a few, end up ruining it for everyone.
Yeah lol, mutes not enough to a lot of people even if it will solve their problem. People demand you kick people who actually do chat in TF2 all the time when it’s super easy to mute them.
They essentially lazy and don’t want to do it themselves.
Toggles are fine as well, I’m just sick of features being removed for “underuse”, like that would ever stop a new cosmetic dlc.
