Why are there no male AI voices? Only female? I hope 343 is going to make male voices in final release. Would hate to see men be looked at primarily as only good for mindless brutish violence, rather than intelligent, helpful, and thoughtful beings. Don’t want men to feel like they are simply an afterthought by 343, by only having female AI voices for this early unfinished development test with an 1/16th of the game on it.
I’m very confused. Fret and Butlr are very obviously Male AI voices…

But how can I know this. I dont have a male female option. You cant just assume their gender by their voice.

Thats fair. I shouldnt have assume gender either. I Apologize. My only issue is that the AI voices are very feminine. Even the “male” voices are very feminine sounding. Almost like male children. However the feminine voices actually sound like adult women. I dont think infantializing male voices counts as representing masculinity.

How in the name of anything can you have the opinion that Butlr sounds feminine? He sounds like a grumpy old English guy you would run into at a Pub. Like… nothing about hits voice sounds feminine to me even a little bit.

butler sounds like a 40 year old butler so I have no idea what your talking about. Fret is also meant to be a young sounding recruit. There are 2 males and 2 females in the test. Each gender having a more mature sounding version (lumu and butler) and a more peppy one (circ and fret). These are not the only AI in the game, but we should not say they all sound like women cause they really dont, especially butler. Even if they did though, I would have no issue with it as long as it fit the personality (fret is a higher pitched male but it fits his go getting recruit attitude)

Ok can we not bring gender politics into this please? They are AI’s, machines, they are genderless regardless of what appearance and voice they take on. Yes even Cortana is genderless because she is an ai. This is a fictional world, you should be able to see anything ‘‘portrayal’’ as nothing but someone acting a part, to create the atmosphere, of the character. Also BUTLR, sounds as his name implies, like a stereotype of a butler.

Yea, I don’t think it’s out of line to assume someone presenting their main concern of “all the AI are super feminine and there isn’t fair representation of males in the game” is probably Male… I have literally zero clue how a female can look through the content in Infinite and come up with the opinion that “Males aren’t being well represented.” 
But I’m pretty sure this is just a troll post and you’re just going to keep twisting everything people present to you, so I’ll just leave it where it lay.

No critically aware person would be worried that these games under-represent masculinity.
