First off I will say that Infinite does look and play great, but I have some concerns with the lack of any Commendation system. Now maybe the full launch will have Commendations, but as of now I think that 343 scrapped the system entirely. I hope that is not the case, but I am not seeing any evidence of a system in place.
If Infinite does not have any Commendations that will be very disappointing for a couple of reasons.

Commendations should be a supplemental way to earn rare and unique unlocks as rewards for completion, so if there is no system that means the only way to earn unlocks is by spending real money in the store to buy armor or by grinding XP with the BP. This should not be the only way to earn rewards and unlocks.

The Commendation system provides a goal with a reward which gives players something to shoot for and show off their hard work. Halo 4 did this well with it’s Commendation system and 343 should have built off that system for Infinite. If a player earns Master rank for 1000 kills or more with a certain weapon they should get a Legendary unlock to show off their skill and for their time invested. A very robust and rewarding Commendation system should have been the core of Infinite.

A commendation system should reward players for their long term investment in playing the game, so without a system what is the long tern reward for time invested in Halo Infinite?
Since Commendations became part of Halo I always felt they were a great way to earn items and track progress with Halo 4 being the best in my opinion, so I really hope that 343 did not scrap what was a great part of past games. All they needed to do was build off the Halo 4 system and make it even better. I hoped that Infinite would break away from the current trend of building an entire game around a Battlepass, but unfortunately they followed the same formula as every other game instead of creating their own unique formula. Right now it is very basic and boring with no satisfying rewards or sense of accomplishment.
