So why does SWAT have no Carbine or Light Rifle? The Carbine was in SWAT for Halo 2 and it worked just fine so why isn’t it there for Halo 4? Plus why is the OD not in this game type? Like you should be should be able to at least have the OD in the game to give you a Carbine, Light Rifle, Promethean Vision, Thruster Pack, Hologram, or Power up like Speed Boost or something.
(OD = Ordnance Drop. AA = Armor Abilities)
Promethean Vision: Lets you find the campers in the map. Which we all know that there are a lot of those in SWAT.
Thruster Pack: We all know how this works. It gets you out of tough situation or gets you close and personal.
Hologram: Now anyone that falls for a Hologram deserves to be killed. Now I will admit having a Hologram in SWAT people fall for it all the time. But it makes people think before they shoot.
Now back to the main topic. When I saw Infinity Slayer, CTF, Oddball, Griffball, The Flood and the others I was extremely happy that they finally change it up. But when I saw SWAT and Slayer Pro I was let down to the dumps. Like SWAT Loadout 1 BR and Magnum and Loadout 2 DMR and Magnum with nothing new stuff from Halo 4 in it. Besides the BR and having a choice between the two. Then Slayer Pro NO AA and just BR, DMR, and AR for your weapon of choice. Oh and we get super speed to replace it AA which is not cool in the slightest bit.
So what do you think about the old but slightly new system?
Promethean vision could be used to camp as much as it could be used to stop campers, I’d rather not have it in swat at all, but eh. As for the rifles I’d like to see both of them in as well, gotta love having options.
I like the way they have it. It adds a layer of depth to swat with a choice between br and dmr without overcomplicating it. Carbine would not balance as well. Right now those two are a really tight balance. Adding power ups is not something I’m a fan of.
The only AAs I’d allow are hologram and…hardlight shield because swat teams have riot shields? Lol, maybe hologram and autosentry because it does nothing. I wouldn’t want thruster pack, promethean vision, or camo for sure.
I’d love for the carbine to be available. It worked fine before. I’m not so sure about the light rifle; from what I’ve seen, the three shots are in a horizontal line, meaning headshots would be much easier. The scoped-shot might be powerful enough to be a one-shot anywhere on the body as well.
I really don’t like the idea of ordinance drops, SWAT is all about reflexes and aim. Let’s keep it that way.

I understand where you’re coming from. But you see all the stuff in the other game types and then you watch or play SWAT. It just seems kind of boring. But the reason why I say the ordinance drops would be a good idea is because then people look forward to get better weapons and all. Which makes the game type more fun for every and not just the core part of Halo 4 fans.
Seeing as the BR is the more “close range” rifle, while the DMR is the “Long range” rifle, I can see why they want the Light Rifle out, seeing it is like both in 1.
I think they want your decisions to matter, and if you were to want to use both kinds of guns, you’ll want to kill someone(or wait until your teammate is dead, whichever comes first) and pick it up as you play.
Carbine, I’m not 100% sure. However, it is a headshot weapon that can fire much faster than both weapons. That may be why they chose to keep it out.
I just hope they release something later on in the year for the Carbine and Light Rifle. Like have one meant for BR and DMR then another one meant for Carbine and the Light Rifle. Or they they could just add it in the loadouts. So then you have more of choices to play the game.
