I used to by into the sayings that the Jiralhanae were gone and would not ally with Elites, which is why you don’t see them in Halo 4, but I recently found this quote from Halopedia that makes me question Why 343 still won’t bring the brutes back. Here’s the quote: "At least some Jiralhanae allied with various remnants of the Covenant; some fought on behalf of Merg Vol’s forces during the Battle of Draetheus V in 2554, and others fought in the Battle of Installation 03 as part of Jul 'Mdama’s Covenant faction in 2557." This shows that some Brutes allied themselves with Jul 'Mdama’s, so there really is no reason they can’t return. The Brute’s delivered something unique to the Covenant, while Jackals would snipe you from afar, Grunt’s flee or go kamikaze, and the Elites would chase you down wielding a Energy Sword, Brutes would charge the player which could make them frightening if you are not expecting them, not only that but the gave us some interesting Vehicles like the: Chopper or Prowler, and some Iconic weapons like the Brute Shot and Gravity Hammer. 343 please don’t forget the Brutes in Halo 6.

We haven’t seen them in any vidocs, trailers, gameplay, nor have they been discussed at all whatsoever in Halo 5, it seems they won’t be in the game. However, we also haven’t seen the Flood but I bet they’ll show up as a surprise some time in the game.
The campaign supposedly takes place on numerous settings, and I bet at least one of the fire teams (hopefully Blue) just happens to visit a location inhabited by Brutes up to no good.

Then 343 could at-least make a excuse for the Storm Covenant to use Brute weapons and vehicles, since this is suppose to be a faction that struggles with supplies and equipment to the point they have to steal equipment and weapons from both the Arbiters clan and humans, why not have them raid Brute clans of their weapons and vehicles as well?
