If you play around with your control scheme, you can probably find something that works for you. I was a long time recon user until the h5 beta. Since then I’ve used H4/universal reclaimer and it seems to work for me. Oh and inverted of course.

It is really about finding the control scheme that feels natural to you. I’ve been playing since the original Halo and since Halo 4 I’ve been using boxer because that just feels natural but also I have an elite controller so I can map my buttons better Kama so that also might be part of it.
Helljumper or bumper jumper for me, I’d recommend HJ especially, you need smart scope on your left trigger, and melee should never be off the right stick.
Recon is one of the simpler control schemes as it closely resembles the Halo 3 controls.
I’ve stuck with the Halo 4 controls and love them, and I use an elite with them as well.

Try one of the alternate control schemes. I found the default to be an absolute mess, so I use the Halo 4 layout.
Recon controls, which for the most part harken all the way back to CE controls, are still available for a reason… Controller settings are your friend and readily available… not hard to find.
I thought the controls were easy to use try messing around with them or you have to they have recom and bumper jumper
I’ve always used Recon, pretty easy for since been using that in all the Halo games.
Well there OP looks like you need to poke the control settings and find the most suitable according to you. I found Halo Reach and 4’s control layout to be unorganised and messy so I found the Recon layout to be my type since I played Halo 3 a lot during its prime.
