Why most people aren't having fun

Stormbreak? That would be a perfect BTB map

Yeah that one alot of space a 2 level mid base and 1 tunnel on the side it would be great

de-sync and server lag are the ONLY reason im not enjoying t his game

You can change the colour and font size.

The large font is kind of, well, large, but it helps you see thing like that.

‘bruh, stop complaining and play the game for fun or just leave’
but how i have fun in the game isn’t available unlike prior games… like FF, an actual progression system, headhunter, etc…
like, i agree with you op. just, it annoys me that so many people defend this… lack of content… it almost makes h5 look better

Why? because the game launched as a cash grab and the only thing that seems to be okay is the gameplay

Sorry, when everything else in the entire game is broken? Yeah, that says a hell of a lot about the developer.

Yeah i am bored of the lack of content too the only time i actually seem to have a LITTLE fun in infinite is sniping with the shock rifle in BTB i just need some new stuff a goal to strive for in game

No

What removes the fun is when you see you shoot/grenade/hammer having no effect onto your target

What removes the fun is play on 220ms servers against PC 5ms players that can move/turn around/aim faster than you on xbox controller

What removes the fun is the blatant cheating and you have no way to dosable crossplay

I mean that certainly is a factor when it comes to having fun in a match the game denying what you did or someone cheating of course. But the lack of fun from what im seeing around is the lack of niche things people used to love doing in previous titles. Like in my original post my favorite halo niche is assasinations and yours might be totally different from mine but everyone has that one thing in halo that just makes it fun something to strive for in game.

Yes most maps are unbalanced with power weapons and active cammor or overshield. The spawns dont make sense either, spawning far away from your team mates, making you face one on one battles all the time.I also miss ground pound and would prefer that instead of the power glove. The maps are many times unbalanced. Launch site is too big for team slayer also.

I can agree the maps are bad but i do not agree on having ground pound it wasnt a very useful ability most of the time and messed up my jumps/melee 75% of the time also having powerups/ power weapons is a needed thing in all halo maps depending on the mode

Totally agree with you OP. The game was dead on arrival for my friend group not because of bugs or performance issues or anything like that, it was because we couldn’t play campaign coop together, couldn’t jump in to forge to mess around, couldn’t load up an infection game and couldn’t even set up a fun custom game reliably. I held on for a while with singleplayer campaign & some multiplayer but now I too am too bored to log back in.

This is not an exhaustive list either and I totally agree with the other points about maps & assassinations etc. The only big addition of fun into the game is the new equipment (grapple & repulsor), but they too are limited by the lack of forge / good customs to really make the most of the gameplay they unlock.

I really think 343i have vastly undervalued the importance that making a game fun has on its immediate and sustained success at launch. My fear is because these things weren’t there day 1, the communities around these things will be forever fatally stunted and simply will never grow to the heights we saw around H3 and Reach.

This game is what I would expect the BETA to have been. It’s absolute monetized trash. I have nothing against the F2P model… many games do a good job with it. Halo did not. It seems they thought “:Oh we will just give people what we normally give them, but make them pay for it, and BOOM… profit.”

This, so much this. This and game modes.

I’m not even talking complicated game modes. I’m talking like Snipers, Rockets, VIP, Juggernaught. Simple modes that have been around forever.

Variety is the spice of life. People can only do the same thing in the same locations so many times before they get bored.

Totally agree on the 343 cannot make good maps piece of this. I could be wrong, but I’m not even sure they make the maps so much as they outsource them to other studios.

The 3 lane map is not the issue itself, it’s the map design. The Pit was a great Halo map. Sanctuary was more or less 3 lanes. I get what you’re saying though. Compare Live Fire and Bazaar to Guardian and Construct. The variety is certainly lacking in Infinite’s map designs. I don’t play much BTB, but it’s even worse there. 3 maps with the exact same biome.

Last but not least, Launch Site is the worst map to ever be included in a Halo game and it’s not even close for me. They should just remove it.

Sorry, this isnt realy the reason. Yes, Forge is part of it, but the main reasons are simple

  1. Game breaking bugs (desync, 1 shot melee, hit registration issues, etc.)
  2. No anitcheat
  3. No content
  4. Poor challenges that arent fun, so no one wants to stay engaged (no on wants to slag through challenges to get a warthog emblem)
  5. No ranked modes (FFA, 2v2, Team Slayer, SWAT, etc.)
  6. Matchmaking issues
  7. Missed social modes (Firefight etc.)

I like the gameplay, feels more like Halo at its roots and not trying (too hard) to be something that it’s not. Halo CE, 2 and 3 were the some of the best Halo’s if you ask me. Halo 4 and 5 were garbage, both were trying too hard to be something Halo has never meant to be. There are a few things I don’t care too much for, like the glowing outline of players. Personally I rather it went back to red vs blue, but it doesn’t change the Infinite feels closer to what Halo actually is.

The maps, they are all mediocre at best. Just saw an article that 343i is currently working on 10 new maps. They should be remaking at least two of the most poplar maps of Halo CE, 2 and 3 and bring them to Infinite. Personally, Halo without Lockout isn’t Halo. Same can be said for Blood Gulch.

What really gets to me, is the lack of commutation and transparency from 343i. So many issues with PC that have been happening since launch and 343i just looks the other way.

The only thing detrimental to my enjoyment is the challenge system and how it forces other players to play against the team at times (get kills with X weapon, or melee…).

I agree that there could be more maps, but i know more are coming with time. Other things will be fixed and added overtime… but I’m not so confident that the challenges will ever be removed!

not to be rude and with all due respect… but as someone who is usually on the other end of the rifle… that’s such an annoying gun. primarily for the fact that it can just hold a vehicle down for waaay too long… long enough infact for a tank to be kerb stomped by everyone whiles being held still from across the map
the mangler is a lot more fun to go against imo… not saying the shock gun isn’t fun to use, just that it’s not fun to encounter -v-
