Correct, within reason

3 days isn’t a long time. We generally allow between 1 and 3 months before a topic is considered ‘dead’, though there are some trheads which are exceptions to that rule. In certain circumstances, like when a topic arises that causes an outburst of threads, we take 1 thread and divert discussion there in an attempt to keep the forums a bit cleaner. Rather than having 4, 5, 6 topics all dicussing the same thing and bumping other topics out of view, megathreads are sometimes (but not always) used. Halo 5’s population is one such thread

For some topics it’s quite apparent when we have a megathread though sometimes it’s not. There are pinned trheads in some forums that contain links to certain megathreads. You didn’t know about the population one, so I directed you to it.

Standard policy, no different that we treat any other topic we direct to another thread

More often than not we will move a topic to the correct forum, unless a user already has a post in that forum or there is already an active discussion topic and it would make more sense to continue there rather than starting yet another topic to discuss the same thing

We’re not other forums though and we have our own policies and guidelines that we work to

It’s not wrong for you to post, but as there was already a dedicated megathread for that particular discussion then your post was locked and re-directed accordingly just as we will continue to do with similar threads in the future.
