Yeah I hate how long oddball games are. nevermind the fact that they are some times just absolute pubstomps. I’m in a social game trying to get that last challenge in and 3 of my team mates leave…
Why do objectives games suck? This seems to be just a Halo thing. People that play other games don’t have issues with objectives.
They give people will less mechanical skill a chance in unorganised play.
Yeah add to the fact that people seem to not be playing the objective and are instead going for kills, like I don’t see a point in someone killing me when my team has the odd ball and I’m completely on the other side of the map due to horrible spawns, that’s a waste of ammo a waste of time, and more. Another thing i see is the ball sitting on the ground, this could also be due to the fact that it seems to be hard sometimes to get the ball when there are a bunch of weapons from dead people around it… But i still see games where people completely ignore the ball and this is in social because I don’t play ranked.
I do. I play CoD and I always edit my game preferences. TDM or nothing for me. Same in Warzone Battle Royale, I avoid all objective games where possible.
I played 7 games of oddball in a row last night. Hated it.
Some people want to do their challenges and that’s why they leave.
Some people are just sick of not being able to choose what they want to play.
I would hate it too. My sons both installed the Halo Infinite Multiplayer on their Series X consoles. I noticed no game type selection or way to edit what game types to search for.
That needs to change, players have preferences and forcing us how / what to play is never a good idea. Players will get fed up and walk.
Other games don’t have challenges that are the only way to progress in the ‘rank’ system… the challenges are the issue here not the game not the players.
It is hard to know how many people are quitting based on how often the game crashes. Crashing should be the foremost concern for 343 at this point.
That is another factor as well along with challenges.
fixing the netcode might fix crashes and other issue we are having with game stutter.
Challenges are an issue, but let’s not pretend that game types don’t matter. They do, in fact it’s a reason I’m not playing Infinite, I refuse to play objectives.
Players will leave for challenges AND the fact they’ve suffered x amount of ctf and they want slayer.
Gametypes won’t matter until we are given seperate slayer/objective playlist or challenges are less specific…
They clearly matter to me and others that are waiting for a slayer playlist. There are also those that hate slayer and would like only objectives.
Players are definitely quitting for challenges, but players are also going to quit when getting 5, 6, or more of the same game type on the bounce.
Well they don’t matter to everyone so until we get seprate playlist, You like me will have to deal with it, or play other games.
Never said the matter to everyone, but the matter enough to some players to make them quit or play other games until 343i sort it.
I never really dissagreed with you i was just pointing it out… so I dunno anymore. Mutliplayer is a mess…
Do your challenges in quick play. People tend to take Ranked more seriously
Some challenges require a win or objective that some people might feel would be done better in ranked.
People who play ranked play for the win. If you leave then you’re screwing everyone on your team by deranking them.
I’m Diamond 5 and only seen 1 person quit so it’s probably not an issue for higher ranks
There is a negative. Losing deranking, banhammer, and tracking of total quits from the game on tracker. Maybe you think it’s not punishing enough?
Those game modes don’t suck at all. They may not like them, doesn’t at all mean they suck. I think it’s just more difficult to them perhaps than a straight forward slayer game.
My advice is always the same. Play with friends. Halo sucks if you play alone and with randoms (most times) there’s a random chance of people quitting. I personally just don’t subject myself to that anymore. My own friends sometimes never load into a match or their game crashes while playing once in awhile though. If no ones on I literally don’t play the multiplayer to avoide the frustration. It can quickly make me hate halo for repeated matches going that way.

I have not even played the game. If and when I do Iwon’t be bothering with challenges. Either way, some players prefer ranked and I expect they’ll continue to play it for challenges if 343i keep making ones that can be done in ranked.
