Why last hitting bosses for full points is wrong.

FEET FIRST!

So Warzone is kind of an FPS MOBA. It’s pretty much the best way to describe it. The origin of last hitting a boss and getting all of the points comes from MOBAs. If you steal a boss you get all of it’s bonuses and empower your team. The problem with Halo 5’s execution of it is that, in a MOBA you don’t directly gain points to winning the game.

You can screw up your advantage by either getting overconfident or just not using it properly, you just don’t get to destroy an enemy tower for free because you killed X boss.

When you last hit baron in League of legends, it doesn’t mean you just flat out won the game, it means you’ve got a buff and now you’ve got a teammate most likely trapped by the enemy. Unless you’re Lee Sin and you can just ! into the pit, smite and ward hop back over the wall throwing up the middle finger.

The point is, that in a a MOBA if you kill a boss it doesn’t assure victory, while in Halo a game can be needed with you killing a boss. While early bosses still allow of comebacks, it still puts you 15% ahead of your enemy. Which means you’re 15% resistance to defeat and 15% more likely to win even if all you did was fire a BR while the enemy team was reloading.
I’ve done it as well, just spawned into a game, saw Tank Master Rok was being attacked by half the enemy team with a banshee, and I shot him 3 times with my AR for the steal while the banshee was turning around. This happened recently, too I might even be able to get the game up as well.

SOLUTION!

So instead of making a comeback harder how about making the game flow better like a traditional MOBA.

When you kill a boss instead of getting a flat amount of points you get a buff. A buff that helps you close out the game but can be easily used against you.

Examples

If you kill Tank Master Rok, tanks cost half their reqs. If you kill Captain Hestro, you’re teammates all get speed boosts until they die. If you kill Warden Eternal you get faster spawns for a certain time.

All of these can be used well if given to the right player but still go horribly wrong, as things tend to do in traditional MOBAs. Just because you have the power to end the game, it doesn’t mean that you can do so by blindly charging, the skill is still there.

Minor bosses too could get these buffs, like the Zealot Assassin, giving faster assassination animations along with legendary bosses giving less points about 50. A point system that still rewards you for killing the boss but points that don’t make or break the game.

This change could also make more fights lean towards the core as well seeing as bases would be easier to capture while buffed. I can’t be hte only one that hates it when Palmer says that we can still destroy the enemy core when you’re losing the game. The reason why that so stupid is because, you need to capture all three bases, to do so and if you’re losing, it’s probably because you didn’t do that.

P.S.

The ranking system resetting is actually for the best. Not because it is in League of Legends but because you can’t drop a a tier below. Once you get to Diamond, you can’t fall to platinum. Not only have many people gotten lucky and trapped in a League they can’t fight in but it aslo keeps highly skilled players on their toes, constantly fighting for their rank.

Sorry for any errors, just woke up and got my daily wins and felt I should make this post. Going to get breakfast. If you find any errors point them out so I can edit.

So the only way to get points would be by killing people? 1,000 kills would take a long time. And it’d get boring.

Its a small point buffer to kill the boses. It can win the game or bring the other team closer to taking over. You need to time your take down and have teammates stopping the other team from attacking the boss. Hot to work as a group.

No thanks. This is not Lol. If we want buffs, we get a shield overcharge from a REQ station. Bosses are enemies, and therefore should give points for each kill.

I agree that kill stealing sucks, but there’s really no alternative that I can think of. I’m not sure turning warzone into a “MOBA” is a great idea.

This Killstealing sucks, so why make it complicated. If your team dealt 80% of the dmg to the boss then your team should get 80% of the 150 points or whatever you get depending on the boss. If the enemy team gets the remaining 20% and so to say steals the boss they dont get 100% of the points they get the 20% that they “deserve”

Just plain and simple give out percentages.

Then that way, the only way to comeback into a match is to have loads of people capable of fucusing on a target, which the lack of that is probably why a team is losing.

343i wants people to have comebacks and not just get smashed 24/7

Just make bases generate more points. also You clearly didn’t read the entire post

Like I said to many times on here. I feel like the best way to do this is have the points be split up based on damage done to the boss. If red team does 75% of the damage to the legendary boss, they would receive 113 and would round up to the group that does the more damage. The kill would go to the person that did the most damage to the boss and the assists would go to the people that were alive and helping out with the kill(certain number of people that were close to receiving the kill

So me and this other guy had 24 points tied for lead. I see another player, start shooting him and then the other guy with 24 points swoops in and does the final shot getting all the credit for it and wins the game. Thats not fair though because I did pretty much all the damage and he just got one lucky shot in. Please make it so that I get more percentage of a kill than someone that just gets one shot in.

Or you could just accept that this is the way it is and make sure you get the last shot in. Its fine, sometimes frustrating as hell but fine.
