Okay look, they wanted to re-create the feel of CE multiplayer yes? Now comparing CE and Reach, when you jump in Reach it feels like your actually jumping. But when you jump in CE it feels more like you just float up into the air and rather slowly fall back down. Because the engine is so old. So THATS why jump is set up how it is. Yeah, its not perfect, but thats why they did it. To re-create the feel like they said they would.
yeah, but i like that lofty jump.
I personally, and I know a lot of people like the more “weighted” feel and not the floaty-ness. 110% jump and 150/200 gravity feels awesome. I’m 99% sure that they left it default jump because 110% jump can break maps that aren’t made specifically for it. And seeing as they want the new DLC maps to work for default Reach, they had to keep the jump height 100%. Regardless, CEA multiplayer is pretty bad IMO.

I know most people do. I just wanted to help clear that up so people stop freaking out. I prefer the lofty jump as well.

That actually makes perfect sense now that you mention it. I haven’t actually played multiplayer but It came to me pretty clearly why people were complaining.

But its not CEA Multiplayer. Its Reach multiplayer. So blame Reach if you must. And I havent gotten the game yet (waiting for it in mail (hopefully coming today within the next hour)), so I can’t judge anyone’s multiplayer opinions yet.
Hey, at least we don’t slide around now.

Lolwat. They set the player speed to 120% and left the gravity at default, we slide around way more now compared to default reach.
I actually like it. <3 Anniversary Classic.
It needs tweaking, but at least we got map control back, You know that thing we were complaining about since the start of Halo reach. Jesus…
floaty jumps = halo
low jumps = reach
bring back floaty jumps
Doesn’t bother me a bit, but judging by some of the topics I’m seeing it seems like we have influx of players who never touched the original campaign or multiplayer.
I honestly had forgotten how floaty the jump was in the first game. No biggie, after a couple of jumps it felt right all over again.
They did it to recreated the past halo game feels.
