why judge halo 4?

Why is everyone jumping to conclusions about something most of us haven’t even played yet?
Please explain it to me.

They think that if, they complain enough, 343 will change it.

Humans fear the unknown.

Because Reach left a bad taste in many players mouth (myself included). Some feel that Halo hasn’t been good since CE and Halo 4 looks to be continuing the trend of being full of gimmicks, dumbing down the game, and increased aim assist and other stuff that is not competitive/balanced.

It’s wrong of course, to judge an incomplete game and to say it will play like complete crap simply because it doesn’t play like this or it plays like that without actually playing it. I be more worried if the Reach Bungie team was behind Halo 4 but we can’t simply say 343 is going to bomb with Halo 4 as they are a completely different team.

That’s the best i can explain it without going into wall of text mode. I haven’t tossed Halo 4 to side just yet but i am concerned.

Because after Reach, you just can’t be too optimistic about “changes”.

Also, why did so many people hate reach?
This is unrelated so do not answer it if you don’t feel like i

This.

People are ignorant.

It gave change to the story line and online play for Halo. I personally like Reach, but it could have been so much more.

All of this.

Simply put, it had a lot of ideas (many of them pretty decent) but either didn’t belong in Halo (competitive or otherwise) or were implemented poorly. However, it’s clear that the game had major balance issues with the maps, ablities, and game mechanics. Plus the fact that the competitive crowd got the shaft in Reach with a bad ranked playlist and lax trueskill system (which hurts the casual side thanks to random pairings usually beyond skill level.) When you get steaked enough times on a constant basis and being paired up with team mates you KNOW you have no business being teamed up with, it becomes obvious something is amiss.

Especially the Armor Abilities. I can go into details but I’ll just say this to describe it’s balance or rather imbalance; Five rocks, one paper.

You asked why and i gave it my best to answer the question at hand. I’ve played Reach with both a casual and competitive mind set and this is my experience after hours of gameplay in Reach.

Does this mean that you should stop liking Reach? No, not at all. If you enjoy the game fine, kudos :). I am just giving additional clarification to why others see in Reach in a different light.

Judging the game isn’t necessarily bad. Sometimes we are just seeing what problems might come up in the game, but we won’t know until we play.

Xenophobia is quite common here.

Why must I run into this Copy of a copy of a copy’s copy’s copy ect, from the same guy.
Besides saying peoples “mouths” is technically offensive to many whether they comment or not.
you should say it didn’t appeal to many rather than talk about a physical part of someones well being whether they agree or not is still WAY OUT OF LINE

I don’t have to punch myself to know that it’s going to hurt.

Lol that was a good. But it doesnt relate to judging a game you’ve never played. Its obvious a punch in the face will hurt, thats common sense

OT: People complain about things they dont like in the game because they think it will get changed to suit their every need. Just play, accept, and love the game how it is and you won’t find yourself typing fast on the forums complaining about something you SAW, not PLAYED.

False, I could punch my self and have it not hurt. It all depends on the force that is behind it. So I ask you, sir, to give me a reason, perhaps?

Chill, no need to get so emotional when i didn’t mean to offended but you really took that bit too literally. If i happened to offen anyone, then by all means know that it was not my intent. Looking back i could have used better wording but i stand by point that this game made more than enough gamers angry (i mean it didn’t appeal to them) and didn’t really get the chance to take off competitively (stream numbers and disinterest do not lie).

I am thankful for the mistakes Halo Reach made however. It sounds odd but stay with me. 343 can use it as guide to make Halo 4 a better game by giving ideas on how to balance out AAs and take out what doesn’t work.

Rawr! Ignorant!!!

NO HALO GAME BESIDES REACH EVER MADE A MISTAKE AND WAS TOTALLY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY, SHAPE AND FORUM!!! TO SAY OTHER-WISE IS JUST BEING A BLASPHEMOUS NOOB WITH NO SKILL!! ARMOR ABILITIES CANNOT BE BALANCED AND I REFUSE TO DEAL WITH GIMMICKS THAT DO NOT MAKE ME COMPLETE CLONE OF EVERYONE ELSE!!! AND ANYONE WITH ANY SKILL AND COMMON SENSE KNOWS THAT THE ONLY THINGS THAT DON’T WORK ARE ALL OF THE THINGS THAT WEREN’T IN HALO: CE 2 OR 3!!!

See how well I acted as the community there?

In all seriousness, I totally get that. 343i can used Reach as almost a test-dummy. They got so much data from Reach, they’ve got to have the tools to balance it this time around.

Plus, due to MP maps not being based off Campaign, they have MUCH more freedom to make the maps work with all this new stuff.

I do believe one of Reach’s true faults was the map design.

But, when you aren’t restricted by aesthetics, basic designs and such, you have MUCH more lee-way with making things work.

All-in-all, Reach had many mistakes that can be made right in Halo 4.

As someone once told me: “You gotta f*** up before you can make up.”

Because the Halo community has become really selfish in recent years.
