Why isn't this Halo 5's armor system?

Poking around Gamecheat13 and pals twitter when suddenly…

Her pinned tweet made me figuratively cry!
343 please, this is what Halo 5’s customization needs! Also the 2017 helmets are in Halo 5: Forge’s files! :open_mouth: ikr 343i EXPOSED. Those helmets look pretty finished to me. >_>
There’s probably something I don’t understand about game development and how I look like an -Yoink- for linking these things, but I feel like this should be known.
EDIT: Also black undersuits confirmed.

They probably dropped individual pieces for full sets due to the REQ System.

Imagine if you got one shoulder that you really liked in a pack…then had to wait weeks for the next? Full sets at least mean you get the full set.

I am not saying the this might be the reason but doom does do this and it is somewhat annoying to me

“EXPOSED”

Again.

Yeah, “EXPOSED” is a bit of a stretch. It’s more or less a “343i left something out that would have been totally cool” again. But stuff that we thought was “cut” turned out to be later req items. So let’s hope I guess?

It would be more the same, as now.

Unlocked mark 6 you would get all its parts.
(Arms, shoulders, legs, chest)

That would seem a bit awkward, no? You’d basically get four/five unlocks in comparison to the one helmet unlock or weapon cert.

You would rather have 5x the armor parts to unlock…

They could just condense armors to 2 variants with “decent” paint jobs

or have no variants and actually have good new designs

I’m just saying that many think the REQ System is cluttered up as is. If you split armour up into sections you’d have even more and it would be even more difficult to obtain the pieces you want. And if you were to do the one armour gives multiple pieces, then you effectively skew the value of some REQ packs; two people buy a Gold Pack, one could get a helmet and a weapon cert, and another gets the armour and another person could get a armour set and a vehicle cert - five/six permanent unlocks vs the former’s two unlocks. It would hardly be fair.

Personally, I do actually like the concept behind the REQ System; but the way its implemented in Halo 5 is a bit too basic and has issues. Come Halo 6 they need to tie in the Experience and progression system more and have more ways of directly unlocking stuff, etc.

Those helmets and almost all of the new reqs indeed have been in the game.
but they required more development before they completely worked.
and also, gamecheat is a modder. That entire argument already is void.

So what you’re saying is that just because those guys are modders and they revealed all these things that have been in the game that the fans really want makes this argument void? Sure, the reqs may need some additional tweaks but overall they were finished. As I said before, there may be some things about game development that I don’t understand but you could at least explain.

I’d rather it stay the full body

Modding tends to have an inherent degree of workaround and hack job to it. Finding something in the files doesn’t mean it’s passed QA; They managed to make Forge work offline but that doesn’t the Forge team could just do what the modders did; there’s so much to consider from a Quality Assurance perspective.

Programming of any sort is weird. Bugs can come up in all sorts of ways.

There’s also the possibility that they have something bigger planned to tie into these helmets to be added in a future update. Maybe the helmets are ready but the suits aren’t. Maybe they want to create unlock conditions for them. Maybe they have other REQs or maps or other content that they want to release with it together.

This clip has already been gone over before in the forums, but I’m pretty sure that the person just accessed the bodygrouping tool for the Model. Now I’ve heard two excuses (not using that in a bad way, just saying, here’s the possible reasoning). Either 343i hated the mixed and matched armor because it’s too tacky looking most of the time (I agree, though I wouldn’t agree with the lack of initiative to replace the ‘missing features’, I made a post about a variant system before that I thought would fix this) and that the game engine would be unable to handle it (I believed this for a time as well, but I honestly don’t know too much about technology and to me this shouldn’t have been a problem since you already have a ton of people in Warzone wearing different armor).

Bringing back Halo 4’s customization would be cool, but so far the only reason I mind this one is because mixing and matching helmets only makes for some really odd combos.

I mean, they could just make it so you still get an armour set, shoulders, chest and all, in one req and a helmet in the other, but you can still customise the armour set, preventing further clutter.

not exactly, but i get what you’re coming at.

these reqs require coding, and coding brings bugs. it still needs more development to launch them without any problems.
as for the armor in the OP, that is a modded version of the customization. there may be a logic reason behind only 2 armor options, as said in earlier posts because of the req system.

if you mod or hack a game, you simply just change the coding. maybe the different pieces are separately and that is why it could have been coded so that all pieces could be changed instead of only the body parts. but i am not a coder, so this is just my view on the matter.

sorry for bad english lmao.

they should bundle helmet sholders arms for one pack, chest and legs for another so it is still 2 packs.

Lol 343 is doing this again, not a suprise. It’s already made and ready but nooo
