I recently got a 4K HDR TV to go with my Xbox One X (had a 4K with no HDR previously) and apparently this game doesn’t support HDR despite being One X enhanced.
Pretty disappointing considering my TV messes up any SDR signal when I’m playing in Game Mode so I have to play outside of it for anything that doesn’t output an HDR signal.
How hard would it be for them to just add an option for “send HDR signal” without actually updating it with HDR content?
From what I vaguely remember from a post by Frankie, is that the reason is Halo 5’s color pallet is too dark for HDR. They didn’t design H5’s colors with HDR in mind which would probably make it even harder to see in a game that already has so much visual clutter.
Isn’t it funny how we buy high end electronics that only work properly in the best possible setup scenarios. Ridiculous.

The game is 5 years old. Technology is cheaper today and much better today. They can’t predict the future. HDR may have existed back then, but it wasn’t as common as it is now.

Sorry, to be more specific, I was referring to his issue with game-mode and SDR on the TV.
It’s already beautiful in 4K, The colors are alright by me.
I was actually wondering the same thing,its my favourite game and really wish it had HDR .since halo MCC did not start out with HDR but now it has it,why could they not bring it to halo 5 , but in saying this you will be able to see it on the new series X Im guessing? For some one who will not be upgraded to the the new series X , as I clearly do not see the point all because the Xbox one X at 60fps and HDR and 4k is all I need to play the new halo infinite which I’m sure they will be hitting all these specs on the one X to its full potential,I guess I’m sorted, I can wait a extra few seconds for a game to load as the servers will still be the same old waiting times,honestly id love to know why don’t they bring auto HDR to Xbox one s and X( would this be possible ms?
