Why isn't Halo Wars in the Master Chief Collection

I mean, come on. It’s a classic Halo game. It should be right in there with ODST and the other Halo. And what about Reach while we’re at it? They technically have Chief in them.

Master Chief is not in ODST, Halo Wars, or Reach. Unless you’re thinking of that Easter Egg that has his cryotube in the garage with the Warthogs. He wasn’t on the Autumn at that time, but rather on a station orbiting Reach fighting the Covenant there. He was picked up by the Autumn as it left. It’s just an Easter Egg.

But anyway, he’s not in ODST and it’s in the MCC, so why not Halo Wars? Or Reach?

Well, for one, about Halo Wars being in there with the Bungie games, READ THIS. Not that it matters, just saying.

And for Reach, here’s why the backwards compatibility version is better:

  1. Play with people on both Xbox One and 360 (larger population)
  2. Faster search times than anything in the MCC currently
  3. Full customization (you want them to do with Reach’s customization what they did with Halo 4’s in the MCC?)
  4. No cross-game playlists (you don’t have to worry about people voting for Halo 2 or 4 when you really want to play Reach)
  5. Full multiplayer suite (not just limited to Slayer and BTB like the games in MCC have, so Griffball, Infected, Invasion, Multi-Team, Doubles, Firefight, Elite Slayer, et all)

^ if you ask me, I’d take all that over 1080p/60fps any day. 720p/30fps is just fine because … well, that’s how we played these games for years. It’s fine.

ODST I don’t know why they added it. But wars and Reach won’t come to MCC due to backwards compability so theres no point adding the two if they’re already available to play on the One.

Halo Wars doesn’t have Chief in it at all. Nor does he really appear in Reach. He only appears in ODST if you count the very tiny In Amber Clad chasing Solemn Penance in the opening drop.

Exactly. It wouldn’t make much sense to have had Halo Wars in the MCC.

Because it uses the Halo 3 engine which was already made X1 compatible.

They added it because MCC was doing so bad it was just like a “here will this make you stop complaining?” from 343i

Halo Wars was done by Essemble Studios, which is no longer around. It’s also an RTS style game rather than the FPS we all know and love. Yes it parts of the Halo Universe but not something that belongs on the Master Chief Collection. RTS games are hard for console gamers to get into as well. Halo Wars was a fantastic game just not really popular among Xbox owners

it has ODST in it, so why not…

Reach should definitely be added

They’re both Backwards Compatible, so there’s no point.

They weren’t backwards compatible when the MCC came out, almost a year and a half ago.

So why did you make a thread about it?

ODST was thrown in MCC as a little “Sorry we botched the launch, take this as a token of our apology” from 343.

Probably because it isn’t about Master Chief, hence “Master Chief Collection”.

Well, because it doesn’t include Master Chief. Same reason Reach isn’t part of it. Now you would say what about ODST? ODST takes place during the same time as Halo 3, and is an “expansion” of Halo 3. Therefore, it resulted in being included in TMCC. It would be pointless to add it in now that it’s backwards compatible.

I have not idea… But i’d like to know

Master Chief is not in ODST, Halo Wars, or Reach. :hugs:

I think the biggest reason why is that every other Halo game is FPS and Halo Wars is an RTS. Wars also didn’t include Master Chief.

I don’t like Halo Wars because I just do not like the whole command & conquer thing. But funnily enough I did play red alert back in the day :relaxed:. Off topic lol.
