Why isnt 343 banning cheaters?

Watching multiple teams play doubles tonight consistently playing against cheaters that are ranked in the 30s+.

How does 343 not detect cheating when its that egregious? Its a LOT of games to get to that rank, and they cheat back to back to back.

Edit: They also brag repeatedly in game chat about the fact that they are cheating.

How do you know they’re actually cheating though? I can’t say for certain I’ve encountered cheaters but have had suspicions, how good is the anti cheat?

Sadly it does happen a lot. BTB or Invasion in Reach is where I have experienced the most

Thankfully it’s been a while since I have seen blatant hacking. I am guessing that when hackers do successfully evade EAC they can go on a hacking spree for quite some time until enough reports catch up to them or EAC is updated. Either situation will probably take days or weeks to process the ban which sucks.

Remember that guy who got banned for cheating who wasn’t lol? but yeah would like more to be done against cheaters can’t stand them. I’m glad I’ve also got a Series X though as I’ve got a device that can turn off cross play with PC users, although doesn’t stop me from encountering those controller modifying device clowns.

Submit a ticket and hope for the best. Even in the best of times for Halo 2 with modders, it took seven hours to ban the modder.

Submitting a ticket won’t affect a lot as they are using a smurf account. Instead, EAC should make a patch or something since they’re clearly bypassing this thing. So far in the last couple of months, I’ve seen only one player cheating on social matchmaking (of course in competitive games is more common)

7 hours would be a DREAM here. Players trying ranked today pass around the name of cheaters and when they are queuing in an attempt to avoid them for days.

Which is something that online matchmaking experience faces with every single game. I’m an onyx player. If my buddy who is a platinum three gives me his account I’m going to face many players and have many matches of lower ranked players. Exactly why people did this in the Halo 2 and Halo 3 days with the number rank. Max out, create a new account and dominate people.

Maybe 343i should give ‘Priority Report’ status to say I dunno at least 100+ devoted regulars like me, UnheardCarnage, Omega399, Nefnoj etc where if we report a player it has a little asterix or maybe our forum membership level on the report so they know this isn’t just a random potentially nonsense report. I’d also suggest the ability to issue bans outright, however; while I personally wouldn’t abuse that and I genuinely don’t think most of my fellow hardcore regulars would either, I can see that potentially being problematic if a putz slips through the cracks and attains that ability. Could trial that maybe?

If I report a player it is for legitimate reasons such as blatant cheating or screaming the N word. I played a game where this guy was trolling the textchat over and over mocking the 9/11 tragedy. That is an example of when I’d issue a ban. Another example is a guy literally flying around using aimbot and see through wall hacks.

Apparently bans are automated to a degree, if you have several people report the guy he might get auto banned.

for me, most cheaters i’ve seen have been in SWAT. heck even managed to go against a whole team of ‘em at one point. and it was just beyond obvious… like no smooth movements what so ever. just instantly snap to you head n’ fire, rarely did a shot miss even cross map.
now sure, they were controller players, but i highly doubt the aim assist is that potent. doesn’t help that they also legit spawn camped. cuz exact spawn prediction is fun in h3

Thanks easy anticheat!

Usually pretty blatant nowadays actually. Straight up saw people flying in ranked before

My video of the cheater was removed and I was told not to post videos showing usernames - so in the future I’ll exclude examples from my posts.

However, the initial question still stands. Why are these players allowed to play for days/weeks/months on end without consequence?

aside from the work put into getting modding tools out I dont think there’s been a ton of constructive work done on MCC. I dont know if the foundation they built it on is just that poor, a lack of carrying or manpower, or just not being able to get the OK for suit above them but its really sad the state MCC is in right now.

1.- Reporting system is a joke
2.- Cheaters can play using smurf accounts without consequences
3.- Players can easily bypass EAC
4.- It seems ML models aren’t implemented to predict whether a player is cheating or not (Even on Halo Custom Edition, people have added some features on their own servers to prevent players from flying, camping, or lag switching, for example)

You know what funny? I was banned for helping my teammates. Here’s what happen:

A friend calls me to join him. We were playing stockpile. I was in a hog with no machine gun. I was pickup up people that had seeds to take them to our base. Because I did not kill any bad guys I was banned forI was in Stockpile in a vehicle picking up people that had a seed and taking them to our base. That is pretty much it.

UNSUPORTING PLAY??? What a stupid reason to get banned
So since I did not kill any bad guys I was told that was the reason I got banned

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

If you really want to stop playing with cheaters, turn off crossplay when on Xbox. At the moment that is the fastest working solution unfortunately. However 343 NEEDS to update the EAC to make it harder to bypass or just outright impossible to bypass.
