Why is Warzone matchmaking so grossly broken?

After spending 3 days being spawn trapped and wasting req cards, my rage is boiling.

I’m tired of constantly being put against stacked teams where I literally waste reqs because they get ANHILATED the second I bring one out.

I’m so close to quitting this game after just having returned from a multi year hiatus. Reqs and exp is locked behind this abysmally crappy game mode and I’m just done. What incentive is there to play Social and Ranked when the exp and req rewards are trash? It feels like a waste of time and the only way to progress through multiplayer is to play horribly broken Warzone or literally just slay AI all day in Firefight. This is not fun :/.

Warzone population numbers are not healthy which correlates with a poor matchmaking experience. I kind of wish they’d bring back a Fireteam cap for regular Warzone while allowing the weekend rotational modes of Turbo & Assault to allow for stacked teams. Not to mention, the Warlords version still exists for Fireteams of 6 & 12 to search whenever. At this time, I’d like to see a 4-player Fireteam cap for the regular Warzone playlist which should limit how much team coordination people might face off against within the playlist.

it’s because although they created a Warzone Warlords gimmick, they never limited warzone party size to 5 or less, so the people online are the newbs and smurfs who have no reqs, veteran cheaters who squad in 6+ parties, and the rare few who just want to play a fair match that they have a chance in when putting in the work. It would be nice if the Waypoint and XBOX support would do something about it, but alas even with irrefutable evidence, nothing happens, so all I can offer is my hand in alliance, if I see you online I will gladly support you. I have become a veteran of sorts of dealing with the home-camping squads

Also another tip for progression on a time crunch is to do a featured Arena Playlist until your daily win for warmup, and then Mythic WZFF until you get the daily win. It is a great way to get stuff and XP in a limited time. On days you see someone to group with online, smash Warzone like no other. Feel free to join me anytime you see me online if you are one who puts in the effort, together we can overcome the atrocities and those who defend them

The cheating in warzone is pretty rampant. I’m not sure how they’re doing it, but it seriously makes me want to smash -Yoink- when you get these teams who are obviously finding ways to modify the way the game plays.

Also -Yoink!- is more focused on making sure nobody says a bad word in chat like XBL is a -Yoink- preschool but when the 5th grader is punching a 3 year old in the face it’s totally acceptable, until the 3 year old tells him to f*ck off and then the 3 year old gets a chat ban.

Forget about matchmaking…the game mode lends itself to snowballing. In arena at least you just have to worry about the skill difference but in WZ you have to also somehow fight the same battle on uneven footing (ie the opponent has a whiplash).

Arena matchmaking is especially bad when it has to deal with premade teams but it can do a decent job if you let it (everyone in the lobby solo queues).

Warzone is dead:( 12’m

I still play WZ, not as much as I used to however. There are going to be teams that still play, you can’t ask them to stop playing with their friends. Your best bet is to invite people from the game you played that you’d like to have on your team and go from there.

Just be prepared that if you yourself invite people to create a team that your chances of vs another team go up significantly.

Additionally there’s no way of manipulating the game to create a stacked team and no need to as 12 man teams can still be formed. Yes there used to be a way of glitching a 6-man onto another 6-man team and play the game as a twelve stack. WZ aims to make the games as even as possible as it does split teams onto opposing sides from time to time for balancing. There’s just not a large enough population anymore.

WZ got tweaked a while back to make kills 2 points instead of 1 point, to help alleviate the farming, and farming isn’t as prevalent as it was in the past.

343 do listen to the feedback you provide, there’s ways and means of doing it however. Just try to relax and have fun!

Sometimes it just depends on when you play. I don’t normally run into stacked teams except on the weekends. I usually play Warzone in the morning and for the most part the teams are fairly balanced and the players aren’t very sweaty.
