You guys remember this in the Halo Wars 2 beta? Were you wondering who this Classic Halo 3 looking Mark VI wearing Spartan was in the Halo Wars 2 beta like I was? It just kinda occurred to me … I mean, this is the first one that 343 has made that has the shoulders and armor on the hands properly done to true Halo 3 style (it’s not Gen 2, definitely Gen 1, and definitely Halo 3, so not Halo 5’s “Gen 1”). Blur is working on Halo Wars 2 as well. All the Spartans we’ve seen in Halo Wars 2 wear Mark IV, and it takes place in 2558(9?), so if there were other Spartans, they’d certainly be from present day lore wise and in Gen 2 … so what the hell is this guy doing here?
… anyone else think it may be a clue? A clue alluding to the kind of project that Blur and 343 have a history of working on together? And just so you don’t think I’m digging way too deep into this, it’s the kind of project I already said we have enough of, that only needed to be done to the original Xbox games, but I guess if they want to go ahead and make another to round off the trilogy, it is about that time next year. If they needed a cool, fully fleshed out asset for the beta menu and some other project was in development where this would have been available … some other project that wasn’t an RTS that had assets that weren’t all CG, though those were in Mark VI and not Mark IV for some reason …
What do you guys think? Am I wearing my tin foil hat too tightly? Or is this meant to be a clue?
And if not, what is this classic Gen 1 Mark VI wearing Spartan doing in 2558/9 with a bunch of Spartans from the Spirit of Fire from the 2530’s in Mark IV armor? He should either be in Mark IV Gen 1 or something Gen 2 if he’s a Spartan 4. He’s really out of place because this isn’t the Gen 1 Mark VI we see in Halo 5, this is the Gen 1 Mark VI we see in Halo 3. This is Halo 3 armor. Why is this here?
I made thread about this and I think it is a hint of Halo 3 Anniversary. I rather have that armor then Mark VI Gen 1 in Halo 5.
I always figured 343 was going to redo H3 because it makes sense. The only way I’m buying it though is if the firing rate of the pistol is increased, the hit boxes are fixed, and they retcon Sgt. Johnson’s death.

I thought it was a bit odd too, that a full blown Classic Mark VI armor was in the lobby. I wouldn’t look to much into it though.

And just to be clear guys, I didn’t mean this was Master Chief’s asset. He wouldn’t have the hex pattern on his visor and there’d be a gash on his chest and all that. I was thinking a matchmaking asset that people wouldn’t complain about why it looked like the stupid Halo 4 version like they did with the H2A matchmaking assets. Remember how everyone wanted the actual Halo 2 looking armor from campaign in H2A multiplayer but they got the Halo 4 looking versions? I’m suggesting this is their versions of that for H3A. I noticed the forearms being off, but the hand armor looks right, it’s got the three dots … unless I’m missing something.
And I could be completely wrong. I don’t know. It was just a thought. I’m not really worried about it because, again, I’m of the “I don’t really want a third version of Halo 3” crowd.
The tanks and warthogs look like there were based on Halo 5. That armor looks like a cross between Mark IV and Mark Vi. I’m not sure what this is suppose to represent. It needs more detail for it to be a Blur model, it probably is an in game model, just not Halo Wars 2. No clue on the map background and the marines.

I don’t think we need a 360 Halo 3, an MCC Halo 3, and an Anniversary Halo 3. That’d be … just … dumb. I don’t know. But you know damn well how much money they’d make off of that, so … it’ll probably happen.

Maybe full price if they remake all the maps the game had at launch (or all the favorites, or at least a hell of a lot more than H2A had), plus Halo 6 beta access. But then people who don’t have the MCC would have to buy that, then purchase the H3A expansion … not sure folks would go for that. The how would be incorporated into all the playlists? BTB would be a mess: CE, H2, H2A, H3, H3A, H4 … it’s just too much. It would need to be a standalone. Then you would have two different versions of Halo 3 on the Xbox One. A bunch of achievements we’ve all unlocked twice already. It’s just silly.

Maybe a game where you play as a Sword Elite on Sangheilios fighting against Jul’s Covenant that takes place between Halo 3 and Halo 5 that really delves into the civil war. Not sure what they could offer for multiplayer though …

Why will you be so angry? No one is forcing you to buy it. I really don’t think that MS and 343 are going to pass up the millions of dollars they’ll make with a remaster!

I think it’s ugly…but that’s just me.
I personally would like to see 343 REMAKE Halo 3. Not an anniversary edition. I think it would be cool if 343 did something similar to the Resident Evil Remake from 2002. Take the original story in a slightly different direction, but still end the same way to not mess up the lore. I think 343 should add a dark and gritty feel to the story, really capturing the need to survive against all odds. I would LOVE to see some new Flood monsters, and really use the upgraded hardware to make things really stand out. This would mean all new voice acting and cutscenes. They could even add in new weapons too if they wanted to.
Think of the original Mad World trailer for Gears of War 1 (2006). I remember feeling the a complete sense of desperation of the situation they were in, just from the trailer. Then the game play and graphics sealed the deal. If a Halo 3 Remake could do something similar, it would be -Yoink-.
