updating?
it doesn’t -Yoinking!- work. if you need a workaround to have people update without downloading the entire game, then your -Yoink- is broken in a fundamental way.
fix it.
I couldn’t even do the workaround this time. paused the game, turned the Xbox off, turned it back on. went to go unpause it and…it wasn’t even in my list anymore. then the Xbox froze.
so, hard reset later and I’m downloading the entire -Yoinking!- piece of -Yoink- game again.
fix your -Yoink-, 343 or creative assembly. Whoever the hell made this damn game. No other game does this.

If you read the other thread, I believe ske7ch said it didn’t have to do with 343 or CA. I think it’s an xbox thing.
Also, there’s already a thread about being stuck… And I think if you want to report a problem, it should go to the support forum.
Here are ske7ch’s statements on the downloading issue:
> This is an ongoing issue that our team is continuing to work closely with the Marketplace team on. Unfortunately it seems out of our hands but I’m told that folks are aware and working on longer term solutions. This isn’t unique to Halo Wars 2, I actually had to re-download all of Halo 5 last week when it should’ve been a ~1GB patch.
> IMPORTANT NOTE: Often there appears to be issues with the download going extremely slow or seemingly freezing entirely - LET IT GO. Eventually it will kick back in and usually even if it shows no progress it is actually downloading in the background. Be warned that if you interrupt the download you will almost certainly be forced to download THE ENTIRE GAME when you launch Halo Wars 2 again. This seems to be a pretty common situation so the best thing to do is just be patient and let that original patch download do it’s thing.
Yeah, it’s not a Microsoft problem when it only happens in this game and nothing else.
I’ve asked around, no other game has ever done it. I’d take exactly everything he says with a grain of salt.

I can promise you now this isn’t the only game that does this. Any game that uses a large amount of data does this. It could be due to a syncing issue but the game is downloading you just have to be patient.
an I can guarantee that this is the only game that does it.

Wrong It has happened on Halo 5. What do Halo Wars 2 and Halo 5 have in common? 343.

I had to do it with one of Fallout 4’s updates.
So no, you can’t guarantee.

Even if it is, I’m not sure how 343 themselves can fix this issue. Xbox Marketplace are the ones that manage downloading and such.
Think of it like this, you buy a game on Steam, but it had issues downloading. That would be a problem on Steam’s end not the developers.
Either way a fix is being worked on for a long-term solution.

Calm yourself, as Breezy said, Ske7ch said this happens and just leave it. Just be patient and let it do its thing, everyone is downloading it now which doesn’t help the cause. You’re just finding something to complain about
This happens with other games OP. Follow ske7ch’s instructions noted above if you have issues downloading the update, alternatively there are threads in the support forums you can post in

I know this is already locked but I can guarantee you this is not exclusive to Halo. This has been a bug for a while and happens to multiple full titles.
Oh and it’s not on the dev side either.
