I’m not sure what it is about this game that’s truly so frustrating, but it does something to people’s brains that most games don’t.
I know that by the end of the night I’m in a terrible mood, no matter how well I do. I’m accusing random nobodies of cheating for shooting through walls and eating shots, when really they’re just people on Xbox wifi on non American servers.
I don’t know, this game just pushes my buttons, does anyone else have the same problem?
This is why multiplayer head to head should only be a side dish of the game not the main course. The most joyful moments for me playing Halo has been in campaign coop, where everyone can get a unified sense of accomplishment. Multiplayer is like a hate maker, it’s great way to increase your skills in order to be better at the campaign, but if you spend too much time on it, it’ll drive you crazy. The coop aspect is the only aspect that makes me excited, the rest is just filler. I’m definitely done buying battle passes. Multiplayer is just boring and frustrating.
Adrenaline… same thing in sports like basketball… hopefully 5min after a loss you can let it go and think about something else… key is to control the ego… just my two cents. Peace
I think part of it for me is that while I’m getting better the game isn’t necessarily. I don’t have nearly as many complaints about it as a lot of people, but the better I get the more noticeable it is when a shot clearly doesn’t register or I just don’t swing the damn hammer.
For me I will time a backsmack perfectly, but end up flying through them and jumping way up in the air (since no collision) I don’t like it but I’ve adapted with grace.
It’s when the two of you dance around the room swinging at each other, and you know the other person is probably just as upset. Even if you win the battle, you don’t feel good about it.
You are absolutely right. First, a PVE is missing. Shooting AI and relax.
Second, a forfeit option in conjunction with other measurements to take away the pain of bad games (for various reasons).
Third, a real social experience like H3. It is missing in every way possible. Startin with sbmm and ending with pre/post lobbies.
But: 343’s last concern is the player itself. Infinite is the climax of their attempt to get the most money out of the franchise. No matter what the fan thinks of it.
I keep meaning to test it extensively so I can prove it, but I know for a fact there are glitched spots on maps where the hammer or a rocket just don’t do damage, like the map terrain eats the blast
My favorite thing in Halo Infinite is when you drain an enemy’s shields and then melee them first but they still manage to melee you right back a fraction of a second after you had hit them first(and should have killed them) but somehow both of you guys end up trading melee kills.
I big part of why H5 and Infinite are so tilting probably has to due with the sheer insane amount of pressure the game applies at every instant, every gun and gadget is so lethal and has so much range it’s impossible to catch a break when combat happens, and then throw in a non-existent skill gap and it makes players feel like they need to sweat their balls off for every win.
The desync its a major mood killer and has caused me to stop playing infinite and the tedious challenges are awful and makes them game not enjoyable. 343 has taken 1 step forward with infinite and 10 steps back.
