Why Is there no public server browser?

Why is there no public server browser in this game? Will it be added or should I just return this game now?

With so many maps, gametypes, and game styles, there’s no way to satisfy people with just a few playlists - I bought this game to play Halo 1 4v4 and BTB on specific map. But one playlist doesn’t exist while the other doesn’t work. And I don’t have enough friends playing Halo to put together a custom game in a reasonable time.

I don’t understand the problem with implementing a public server browser alongside matchmaking. What is wrong with more customization and player choice, especially for this game? I feel like in terms of the methods used in finding games, that the industry has gone backwards over the course of the last 10-15 years.

yeah, Gears of war 1 was awesome because of this.

Because it doesn’t work like that.
Servers are lets say dynamic.
I think that they work like this. But I’m not sure.

  1. You are searching for a game.
  2. You have found the game.
  3. New server is created for your game.
  4. Game ends. Server is no more.

And Halo PC and Counterstrike and Battlefield and so many more.

I understand the merits of matchmaking, but for a game with this much variety, there is simply no excuse for the lack of a public server browser. I just don’t understand why nobody thought of this. If there needed to be one feature they should have put into this game, it should have been this. I just don’t understand what they were thinking.

I’m not looking for the server browsers and matchmaking games to be connected.

They need a separate entity to search for specific public games. Server browsers have been the tried and true method of doing this for 20+ years. It works in Battlefield, it works in Halo PC, it works in Unreal, Counterstrike, Gears of War, and many many other games.

And with all the issues this game is having, who know if the community will be large enough in a couple of months to even support any playlists.
