Alright, now I believe that 343i made pre-order bonuses because they had to for all of these companies who sell games and it’s already a mess to get them. But I bought the campaign for PC (Steam) and I didn’t know there was a pre-order bonus for Halo Infinite, but when I found out, I was excited because “hey I bought the game when they announced the release date, so I’ll get mine.”
I later find out that there is no pre-order bonus for Steam or Microsoft Store. I felt kind of hurt, this game is already making me play alone on day one, but now I’m losing out on bonuses just because of the platform I play on? Again maybe these pre-order bonus are all because of each and every store that is selling Halo is trying to make money off of Halo Infinite, but why isn’t there one for PC? I don’t want any witch hunt but I just want one realistic answer. Why is there no pre-order bonus for PC?

yeah its pretty scuffed since atleast a few games offer steam skins, like nioh 1 (and maybe 2 but i havent checked), but no if you actually buy the game you are a second class citizen to them.
If i understand correctly - preorder bonuses that are store specific usually cost the store. I.E. Gamestop either pays a lump sum, or a a higher cost of good fees in order to have their own preorder bonus. (marketing ploy to try and get more people to buy it there as appose to other places).

I’m just trying to ask for a good reason for why I’m not getting a pre-order bonus for paying the same price and doing the same thing (PRE-ORDERING!). I’m getting the campaign and it’s incomplete, it not cool but this is what 343i decided on and I really wish they didn’t but they did, should it be worth $60? NO! Should I wait for reviews? YES! But that’s not the problem. If I spend $60 for the campaign at gamestop for Xbox, I get a pre-order bonus. I’ve done and payed for the same thing and yet I get nothing all because I play on PC. And to me that’s not right. Yes all it is, is a skin but it’s not about what I get, it’s about not getting anything all because I paid for it on PC

For games you are correct unless it’s some limited collectors stuff (maps, tokens, figurines, etc.). For the consoles and other hardware, preorders are the sad truth at the moment :(.
Honestly I was unaware that other retailers had preorder bonuses for Halo Infinite. I have game pass for xbox and as far as I know there is no preorder or game pass bonus that I’m getting. That being said it would be nice for those who are actually paying money for the campaign to get a little something for preordering regardless of where they buy from. It is likely a case that places like gamestop or best buy or other retailers gave Microsoft/343 money in order to have certain incentives for preordering their version of the game basically. Realistically retailer specific preorder bonuses are going the way of the Dodo which is personally how it should be but if you look at it from the perspective of Gamestop or Best Buy they need something to lure customers away from buying purely digital. I think slowly digital sales will and already are starting to become the norm and then preorder bonuses such as these will be a thing of the past. It does suck right now but on the plus side maybe these preorder bonuses will be only a limited time thing and will become available to all players after a while.
There is no good reason. And the excuse that “These skins aren’t cool anyway”, “Lots of games don’t offer Steam bonuses”, and “don’t worry. There will be plenty of other skins to choose from” are unacceptable as well. Not surprised though.
I wouldn’t worry about it, the preorder skins will probably be also available in the store for a similar price. Seeing the promotion does not mention they are exclusive and that’s something that the store likes to mention in the advert to hype the sale.
